The Early Spring

早春晴朗 ‧ Drama ‧ 2026
They are similar in these ways:
- The leads relationship spans over years where they are together on and off
- They get together early on and their relationship remains a secret for the most part, with only the leads' best friends knowing
- No matter how many times they break up, they are not able to let each other go fully
- there is a clear physical yearning (dramas from 2012 didn't have these many kisses)
- Nobody tries to interfere in their relationship or pull them apart, the angst is very much present throughout due to their own interpersonal difficulties
- Both love each other but there is a moral perspective behind the ML's actions (was he good or bad) - there is a clear toxicity and ambiguity to their relationship
- Unequal power dynamic with ML being significantly richer than FL + being FL's boss
- FL goes from being a bright, cheerful young college student to a depressed, tired adult by the end of the drama
- ML uses his pet as an excuse to see her

They are different in these ways:
- ML has multiple illnesses that hamper his daily life
- ML is a lot nicer and leads communicate but because of his illness, he constantly pushes her away
- You can feel the love both of them have for each other
- FL doesn't have as much self-respect as in Early Spring; she keeps throwing herself at the ML and making herself available to him
- It is not as well shot, score sucks and acting isn't great as Early Spring
- the reasons for the angst are different
- it's not a happy ending

The feeling of angst basically defines this according to my opinion.
Angst- Often arises from a deep sense of unease or anxiety about life's uncertainties. It can manifest as a profound inner turmoil, where one grapples with existential questions, searching for meaning in a world filled with chaos. This emotional state can be characterized by a lingering sense of dread, a gnawing doubt about one’s purpose, or the weight of unfulfilled desires.

Kosaka Ren arrives in Japan to take up a special temporary lecturer position at an art university in Kamakura, Japan. He is a young and talented artist, who has a certain aura about him to make people want to get closer to him, but he also keeps a certain distance from everyone around him. Like butterflies that surround a flower, he is surrounded by other people. One day, he meets a certain woman and, because of her, his emotions begin to change. Both series have lots of commonalities!

–FL works under ML in the same workplace
–They try to hide their relation
–Friend of ML helps a lot and give advice in bringing them together
–FL have a lot of options which makes ML angry and kinda jealous
–ML have a family friend who he only sees as a family but she loves him and that adds misunderstandings in his love life
–In both Dramas FL help saving life which makes ML fall in love(In The early spring FL saves ML, whereas in Boss & Me FL saves sister of ML).
–Highly addictive chemistry between both the leads
–ML is aloof and cold kind of a boss though only warms up for FL
