But I still don’t understand one thing: the Empress Dowager's motives for giving so much power to Lai Luozhi. From that bedroom scene, it seemed she trusted him blindly... Did she really think he would be forever grateful for her helping him climb the ladder? It doesn't quite click for me, especially since she doubted him so much earlier in the show. 🤨 I’m waiting to see how she plans to stop him now!
