what i liked and didn't like.
i really liked the storyline the most. it was delivered perfectly. but some things were quite off towards the end and felt really rushed. i started to lose interest from ep 10 end.. or maybe 11. overall I'd say it's really good for the story but the ending felt unreal. the highlight of the entire series, to me, was episode 9.. the end. and after that it literally *dropped*.i see myself in quite a few characters. so this was starting to become really dear and personal to me,, but the ending dissapointed me SO much. i've probably repeated this a lot already but i just finished watching it and can't get over how upset i am with it 😭

A Tale of Dreams, Struggles, and Redemption
Namib tells the compelling story of a 19-year-old idol trainee with a turbulent past, grappling with feelings of disposability in a cutthroat industry. Choosing mediocrity as a shield, his path intertwines with the determined ex-CEO of Pandora Entertainment, a woman navigating the complex roles of mother, wife, and daughter. Together, they embark on a journey of mutual support and self-discovery, betting everything on a shared dream.Having watched the first two episodes, I find Namib both promising and deeply engaging. The narrative captures the joint struggle to reclaim self-worth, beautifully portraying the strength in vulnerability and the power of second chances.
Ryeon, as expected, is phenomenal in his role, bringing the same charm and nuance that captivated audiences in Twinkling Watermelon. Familiar faces enrich the cast, adding layers of intrigue and familiarity. The story hints at even greater depth, making it a must-watch for fans of heartfelt dramas.
So far, Namib has been an enjoyable ride, and I’m eagerly looking forward to where this journey leads!

Seriously, this was another beautiful drama that deserves much more acclaim + I have to praise the wonderful songs and especially the OST (one of the biggest thanks goes to my lovely Doyoung haha (his birthday is tomorrow btw)).
In the drama we see how it goes on behind the cameras and in some companies and it's really crazy sometimes (ofc it's not like that everywhere, so don't think pls) as well when it comes to self-harm (I think it opened a lot of people's eyes and made it more clear what self-harm can cause and all those thoughts APOD.). + I'll add that the main CEO really annoyed me with her decisions, I've never been so angry with the main character in my life as I was with her. I'm also extremely proud of Jinwoo, who I didn't even know was acting anywhere (sorry). Well, this is mine rating and I recommend the series <3 Yeah and the ending made me cry (that wouldn't be me)

Powerful Performances in a Story That Mirrors Real‑Life Struggles
Namib was a complicated series for me to watch, mainly because I identify with the character of Yoo Jin U.It's a really heavy series, but beautiful. , as it shows how idols are treated in Korea by their industries and what many of them feel, and unfortunately also those who have not managed to win their battles.
I found a few minor flaws, including perhaps a lack of development in the various storylines of the characters, but the actors did an impeccable job of conveying the emotions to the audience. Go Hyun Jung definitely did a great job with her character, as she made me hate her, but at the same time made me try to put myself in her shoes.
I recommend it, but if you are going through a difficult time psychologically, I advise you not to watch it until you feel able to.

The story of mistakes and redemption
First of all I would like to say in general it was interesting. I’m a k-pop fan and I understand what problems this industry has. I wasn’t shocked or disappointed by the things are shown in Namib, I personally think that we should have more stories about the show business industry at least to pay attention to some aspects, but for me the acting level in this drama was too various. The main characters, especially Kang Su Hyeun and Yoo Jin Woo look too typical, they are not people they are just characters. Sim Jun Seok and Sim Jin Woo look better at least thanks to Yoon Sang Hyun’s comedian talent and Lee Jin Woo’s youthful charm.
Lee Ki Taek as Chris/ Han Yeong was my absolute favorite and kept we watching the drama. His ability to act everything (literally everything: the pain, disappointment, hope, forgiveness and redemption) without any loud expressions, but so bright and desperate. Absolutely great acting performance, unfortunately the character wasn’t open enough by the script and screen time, but I can say Lee Ki Taek’s acting did it instead of the script.
I can say it’s worth watching if you like Korean music or want to look at the inner process and some examples of the problems here. And surely for opening Lee Ki Taek’s talent.

A sloooow burn drama.....
This drama is kinda Ingrid Bergman style, lots of face shots and long pauses.... it goes slooooowly.... and the actors are not very animated for most part, there is lots of strife and depression and grief...it paints not a pretty picture of entertainment industry.. the competiton,,,, the greed... the politics... the money the power the GAME ....
and how to survive and thrive if you are an artist with baggage..
And the final message is pretty inspiring.
Warning: there is no romance in this kdrama . The focus is healing the ML and getting him to become a successful professional artist (by providing a stable family environment)

Good enough
Korean Drama '' Namib '' is a drama about an idol and his manager, or rather, a man who is struggling to become a debut idol and the woman who is going to make that happen. The drama has some interesting storylines, especially when it comes to the families of both leads and how they became an unconventional family in the end.
However, the final episode was a mess, with an awkward time jump, a plot that was rushed to finish, and a cheesy twist in the end.
Finally, the performances were all great, and the actors and actresses who portrayed the idols did an amazing job with their singing and dancing parts.
So, overall, six out of ten.

So far I'm really enjoying it.
After 5 episodes I can say that the story has many interesting characters and the reason why I really like it is because they feel real and because of the great chemistry between them. The actors are great and I like that they are taking their time to give details about their past to show their problems and personalities.
The music/soundtrack is also good which is a bonus. I'm looking forward to see more. I know I'll miss these characters when it's over.

beautiful and diverse relationships between people
I dont usually write reviews but namib is very dear to me and it seems its not getting the love it deservesThis drama explored so many different kinds of relationships between people and it showed very realistically how humans naturally choose to protect themselves and their family even tho it might hurt others and even tho they might get hurt by other people who do the same.
I liked how it showed how the kpop industry can be very harsh and all the things that happen behind the camera and all the scandals that were obviously fake and yet had a strong impact on someone's career and life. I also found interesting that the show shared different stories of trainees who didn't actually end up idols which i think not many ppl talk about how it is very hard to actually debut and many talented ppl never get to that point.
Yoo Jinwoo as a character will forever be in my heart, the show portrayed his struggles very realistically. It showed the cycle of gaining and losing the same hope that u want to hold on to with ur whole body but the world seems to spin against u no matter what. I appreciated how they portrayed sh as a form of wanting to survive and didn't make it look like a wish for death. His relationship with food, even tho it wasn't portrayed very realistically bc it seemed like he just stopped a habit that he had for way too long for it to be that easy, it was still e pretty good representation of bingeing as a coping mechanism when ur emotions get too overwhelming, it just needed a bit more development.

A good drama
Story is rushed to fit 12 episodesI gave it 7.5 because of some casts, and the story
production its normal for a series
Music, the last episode was the only exception the rest of the episode, the OST and BGM are just ok,
rewatch, if you like short series and related to music, it has a rewatch value of 7, you can include this to your
drama series marathon.

An Emotional Journey: The Main Lead’s Struggles and Unforgettable Support
This was such a good drama, a true tearjerker. Honestly, you couldn’t help but feel for the main lead the entire time as he was thrown around by almost everyone. It seemed like he had no one to really rely on, but his two good friends, the manager, and her husband were there to support him. The drama was amazing from start to finish. To top it off, the OST “Smile Again” sung by Doyoung perfectly matches the vibe of the show and the main lead’s journey. I’m so glad he ended up singing it at the end. I would definitely recommend watching it!
