Hard truths

YuCi manages to make it home after her beating. Ironically LiangLiang’s mom had a bday cake waiting for her. She sees YuCi hurt and YuCi begs her to not involve police. She calls Chen Mo who gets YuCi to the hospital. After being treated she runs into her dad in the hall. He has completely lost it and when he sees the mark on her arm he continues to warn her twin to be careful and hide from her sister. YuCi confronts them when she finds out she is the only one who had no clue. She cuts herself off from them and leaves. LiangLiang’s mom was in an adjacent hall and heard every word. She gets the rest of the story from Han CongFei. He had to live with the devastation he brought to YuCi with his quest to be a big shot reporter. I am truly loving the three friends in the hospital. They are good guardians for her even in their fractured states. The pretend wine was a sweet gesture, and I had a laugh out loud moment watching them ‘meditate’. 😂🤣 She mastered his Cryptex and that gave him the last letter from his son. It is hard to believe that sweet old man was a prior Jiang. Watching him laugh with his buddies about people jumping off buildings because of the stock crash was surreal. He treated his son like Rao did YuCi about needing help and he was like Mr Li finding that his wealth cost his child his life. He had to be tempered through that tragedy to become a human that cared about people over money. This is why he recognized the help YuCi needed and went all in to support her. LiangLiang’s mom was filled in on it all, backed up with pictures and documentation. She now sees how her daughter orchestrated all the bad happenings in YuCi’s life. She must now acknowledge that her part was taking her daughter from the rich ‘father’ and causing her to have such bitterness and ambition. One thing about LiangLiang’s mom, she is not a wilting violet. She took her daughter’s abuse because she felt it deserved for losing her and having no say in her first 6 years of life. However, we will now see what course she chooses knowing that her actions contributed greatly to this sequence of manipulated events. YuCi is at rock bottom now and mustering her last bit of courage to continue on her own. Ren and Yu now know YuCi won’t be back but no clue why not. LiangLiang is all happy to be back with her crazed smile and eyes and Gma Bai has now joined the ranks and she is just a cold hearted individual. She doesn’t give a damn about anybody, but she does have the clearest view of everything that has happened and most of the why’s. She puts things into better perspective than most of them. Knowing that, I still have to wonder why she tossed Jiang into the midst of things given his dynamic of using and abusing women. He doesn’t seem like a first choice for her. This episode filled in some blanks and left a lot more questions. YuCi has to stay solitary, but I sure wish she had a benefactor that could help her. She is in desperate need of assist. Here I am just so angry with Chen Mo. He knows what kind of person she is and has a pretty good idea of how she thinks and processes things, yet thought her left in the dark about her lost sister was in her best interest. That arrogance of thinking he knew best for her protection may have cost them both everything. With this I really wish YuCi had LiangLiang’s mother. Her mother does a lot of wringing her hands and accepting everything as beyond her control. She lets herself get led by others in just about everything. Other than truly loving her daughter, this story was very unkind about giving her any relevance at all. LiangLiang’s mother is quite capable and refuses to stay down even when life keeps throwing her curves. She has a quiet strength that takes life head on and keeps her kindness and humanity as her greatest features. She made a serious error when taking her daughter back the way she did because that event resulted in all these others. Now to see if they give her a bigger part in how things play out or keep her a spectator.
