Above the Wall

In the late 1990s, the Pinghai National Cotton Factory went bankrupt, and delayed resettlement fees sparked corruption rumors about director Xiao Geng Shi. When worker Jiao Tong Sheng, who had been gathering evidence, drowned under suspicious circumstances, police officer Luo Shi Xiang began investigating. Jiao’s daughter, Lin Shuang Sheng, also sought the truth behind her father's death. As Luo closed in, Xiao Geng Shi retaliated against Lin and tried to manipulate Luo. Pretending to cooperate, Luo gathered evidence from within. Though Lin briefly withdrew, she ultimately helped expose Xiao. With their combined efforts, Xiao was brought to justice, and the workers finally received their rightful compensation.
