Não crie espectativa

Meu erro foi assistir esse dorama com uma espectativa alta, mas infelizmente, ele não conseguiu me surpreender. A história é estranhamente confortável de assistir, mas falta algo que a torna realmente memorável.

A protagonista é uma mudança bem discreta em relação aos doramas japoneses típicos, ela é mais ativa e menos sonsa do que o normal. O protagonista, por outro lado, é um típico cara popular com problemas com o pai e habilidades no basquete, nada de muito original.

O problema é que os personagens principais não são bem desenvolvidos, o que torna difícil se conectar com eles. Várias vezes eu me peguei pensando "por que ele está fazendo isso?" ou "isso não parece ser algo que ele faria". É como se os personagens estivessem sendo forçados a fazer coisas sem uma motivação clara.

E o final... oh, o final. Eu não entendi por que diachos ele ficou pequeno(e porque diacho que eles teve que estar morto). É como se a história estivesse tentando ser profunda, mas acabou se tornando confusa e sem sentido.

Mas, apesar de tudo, eu gostei da família da protagonista. Eles são um ponto positivo na história, especialmente a mãe e o padrasto, que estão sempre lá para apoiar a filha, mesmo quando ela faz coisas sem sentido. Eles são um exemplo de família amorosa e unida, e isso é algo que eu apreciou.

No geral, o dorama é estranhamente confortável de assistir, mas falta algo para torná-lo realmente memorável. Se você está procurando por uma história leve e sem complicações, pode ser uma boa opção. Mas se você está procurando por algo mais profundo e bem desenvolvido, talvez seja melhor procurar em outro lugar.

Lovely in every way

I loved it. This could have been my all time comfort show.

I haven't watched the all the other "minami kun no koibito" shows so I don't know how different it is from them, but this show is such an underrated gem and I wish all the romance lovers watched it.

The main couple is the definition of a healthy relationship. They share a passion for basketball, support each other no matter what, communicate, discuss about anything and nothing, understand each other perfectly... Hell, Chiyomi was even happy when they fought for the first time, if that isn't healthy then I don't know what is. I'm a sucker for healthy couples so they're definitely in my top 3 Jdrama favorite couples.
There was litterally nothing I didn't love about the story and the characters. The relationships between Chiyomi's family members were sweet, strong and deep and as someone who really believes that family is something you find not something you have from birth, their dynamics really warmed my heart.
Everything was perfect: the characterization, the problematics, the humor, the romance, the music....

Then it took a turn.
I'm not against tragic events in sweet stories, and I still think the topic was handled well all the way to the end. But I think the director tried to take two paths and all it did was leaving me with a bittersweet taste.
The thing when you start a story as sweet and funny as this one, is that if you make it end in a tragic event, the audience won't expect it at all and the shock might not be to everyone's taste. It is not to mine. I started watching it because I wanted a light and sweet drama to get things off my head, and here I am still crying as I'm writing this review lol.

Still, I cherish this story a lot and I hope to see more couples like these two for upcoming romances!
