In 2017, the bodies of 13 children who had starved to death were found in the basement of Haikawa Juzo's mansion. It was discovered that Haikawa had kidnapped 19 children in the past and lived with them. Among the victims, six survived, including Saeki Jin's brother, Takimoto Sosuke, and Hasumi Kanon. All survivors, except forKamishiro Kenryu, who was missing, denied Haikawa's crimes. Haikawa was later apprehended with a distinctive hexagonal mark on his hand. Meanwhile, Kanon was pushed down the stairs by an unknown assailant and told Saeki that the attacker was the true culprit of the Haikawa mansion incident. Seven years later, in 2024, journalist Mori Toko was investigating the "Rikka" mark found at the crime scene and questioned Saeki about it, revealing that the missing girl Mirai had the same tattoo. Mori asked, "Is the case really over?" (Source: Japanese = YTV || Translation = kisskh)
