Absolutely ruined a masterpiece.

Addicted OG was my first BL and my journey started there. I have watched it countless times and read the books at least thrice. This series comes no where near to doing justice to the source material. In summary, do not even consider this would be anywhere near to the original series and only watch it if you are okay with it. Even if you have no idea about the source material, the series is not made in an interesting way at all. If you know the source material, there is no way you cannot compare. Don't waste your time on this. The following points will clarify my stance on this. The brilliant decisions made by the makers are: 1. Someone took the source material, read it, understood it, watched it and said, you know what, let us hire a kid who is under 18 to play BLY (I refuse to use the names in this series) who is supposed to be canonically older than GH. and make this kid (though the actor now is over 18) play opposite someone who is at least a decade older. The problem here is not the age gap, but the fact that one person is under 18. This restricted the makers from shooting or including the scenes that are very important for the story to proceed according to the source material. The then under 18 actor did his best. But he can only do so much with the script he is given. The chemistry between the main couple did not work out at all, considering that I expected at least some level of chemistry between them as they are playing BLY and GH. I do not blame the actors. They did their best. 2. Some other genius further thought, let us take some of the serious scenes that establish BLY's affection towards GH and make them into comedy or sarcastic scenes by adding some random sounds to make it look comical. 3. Absolutely butchered the writing of the second couple who are equally important for the progression of the love story between the main couple. The only saving grace:1. The actors did their best. Can't blame them for the bad script. Only they made it at least tolerable.2. Good production design and cinematography. Music for some scenes is fine. No where near the original series though.3. The only good decision in the scripting aspect was to remove the non-con scenes. I appreciate that part.
