« I Just Wanna Hug You » est un film qui m’a surprise par la façon dont il ne contourne pas les difficultés liées au handicap. Que ce soit à travers le fauteuil roulant, les transports tout le reste, qui semble si banal pour les gens qui ne vivent pas avec un handicap, ou n’ont pas assisté à ces difficultés vécu par un proche. Je fais partie de cette seconde catégorie, et voir ces réalités si bien représentées et interprétées m’a vraiment fait plaisir. L’histoire est parfois un peu lente, mais elle reste très belle, émouvante et, par moments, profondément triste. Savoir qu’elle est inspirée d’une histoire vraie la rend d’autant plus touchante et marquante.

It didn't make bawl out crying but I felt the reality of raw human interaction in every way possible.

Story wise, I felt like it needed more time, a little more interaction here and there but all in all it gave me what it can with the limited time it was given

The actors were just amazing. Keiko was definitely leading the show while Ryo was not too far behind with a almost always consistently good performance. The rest of the cast felt like they were custom fitted into their roles that I think there is no way the cast could be better.

The songs were fitting but somehow forgettable.

Definitely something I would watch again. It's the kind of movie where you'll find ways to watch it again.

Overall, entertaining, funny, touching and somehow shocking.
