3 years after the death of Suzuki and the brain scientist Kainuma, a new investigator is assigned to the Ninth. The man says he came to the Ninth because of his respect for Maki but Maki is shocked to see the man's face, a doppelganger of the deceased Suzuki.
Meanwhile, Aoki Ikko is introduced to the MRI investigation after 9 boys mysteriously commit suicide at different locations on the same day. All 9 were minors who were at the same juvenile detention center, and Aoki is surprised by the image that shows strange things. Eventually, he learns that the boys all had a common experience...
