My Royal Nemesis

Both are time-travel Ro-Com dramas but have different storylines.
When I watched the first episode of my royal nemesis,
Queen and I suddenly appeared in my mind.

Genuinely so similar (as of now) for me to confuse the two. The FL is a fish out of time, accidentally encounters the rich and cold ML who ultimately becomes her only anchor in a suddenly-new and modern world. Park's Marriage Contract's main trope is marriage-of-convenience, and we are yet to see MRN's main trope. But both have Joseon-era women somehow deal with modern-day Korea.

• A modern-day chef’s soul gets trapped in the body of a Joseon queen.
• Hilarious, gender-bending, and full of palace politics and romance.
• Similar in that it features possession + Joseon + bold female energy.

When I think about time travel in kdramas my mind goes straight to Rooftop Prince one of the OG. The premises with a Joseon character landing in modern day Joseon Hell feeling lost but looking to reunite with a first love with a mysterious scar on the face. Rooftop Prince was a mix of humour and old days melodrama here the humour and modern romance give another tone to the content. But those two share first love, revenge, time travel, chaebol, lost memory, struggle in modern day Korea, family conflict, trahison ….so many similar boxes are ticked.

The male lead in heo's diner faced an accident that he was abt to die that's why he time traveled same thing with female lead in my royal nemesis but she possessed other woman's body who looks exactly like her so both they started to discover the new world they traveled to.

Both are similar, travel into others world.

Lee Gon is the third Korean emperor of his generation. His citizens regard him as the perfect leader. But behind this flawless appearance, hides a deep wound. When he was eight years old, his father was murdered before his eyes following a coup. Today, instead of respecting his filial duty, he prefers to escape the palace to attend university conferences. During one of his escapades, he sees himself propelled into a parallel world where he meets Jeong Tae Eul, an inspector with whom he teams up with to defeat the criminals but also close the door between their two worlds.

Both dramas are about transmigration. It’s about a woman from the Joseon era who is considered a villainess and ends up in the modern world, where she becomes involved with a man from modern times who is also seen as somewhat villainous.

• Set in a fictional historical world with soul-shifting magic.
• Features a fierce woman possessed by an assassin’s soul.
• Strong female lead, deep romance, fantasy twist.

Both have soul swap/shift of the female lead, reincarnation /resurrection of the male lead, past/current life storyline, changed /forgotten identity , big yearner male lead

– Both women come from other realms (Joseon/historical ? modern, Hell ? modern).

– Both feature intense, bickering relationships with cold modern men.

– Strong female leads clash with equally powerful male leads (chaebol/lawyer).

– Supernatural women adjusting to life, love, and work in the present day.

– Both women are seen as villains or judges but get a chance to change or be understood.

Love to hate is one of most known enemies to lovers kdramas amongst fans. We can find in both dramas a strong female lead who likes to fight versus an controversial lead man. Humour is also a common point, many exaggerated situations.

differences:

Both involve a FL travelling through time. ML and FL are from different eras. MRN plays in modern times while MOLS plays in the 6th-century Goguryeo (= part of today's South and North Korea) (I mean... for once it's not Joseon!!!). Both are rom-coms that involve famous historic Korean figures, strong FLs and bikering couple/Love-hate relationships.

A confident male lead: In both dramas, the male lead is wealthy, influential, and extremely self-confident—sometimes even arrogant. Beneath that exterior, however, he has a more vulnerable and caring side.

A capable and independent female lead: Both heroines are intelligent, hardworking, and not easily intimidated by the male lead.

A romance that begins with tension: The main couple starts off clashing or misunderstanding each other before gradually falling in love.

Lots of comedy: Both dramas blend romance with humor, featuring awkward situations, misunderstandings, and funny dialogue.

A male lead who falls in love before admitting it: In both stories, the hero becomes increasingly protective, jealous, and awkward once he realizes his feelings.

A love story connected to the past: Both dramas gradually reveal past events that have a major impact on the characters and their relationship.
