To the mountains and rivers
oh what good times were that, waiting for this to be airing. at the end i was smiling and crying simultaneously, at least they got the life they longed for. I'm happy for that, death necessarily doesn't mean of a sad ending.I think what shu he did was reasonable, he still wanted to take revenge but didn't know how, because he loved this man undeniably. It'll be too painful if one has to die at the end and one has to live afterwards. He knew duan zi ang didn't have much more time,so he took his revenge by taking what ZI ang loved the most, shu he himself. He had what he wanted, Zi Ang suffered before he died at the thought of shu he dying before him. what is painful more than the feeling that the one we loved to die infront of our own eyes. I've realised that, They only needed to be together , and they had it at the end. I'm truly greatful for the cast and crew for bringing out such an amaizing master piece. I'll remember u forever, farewell Duan zi and and xiano shu he.Was this review helpful to you?

Unforgettable Tragic/Bittersweet yet Beautiful Story
An Unforgettable, Breathtaking historical BL that beautifully blends romance, Tragedy and Destiny. The cast delivered outstanding perfomances, bringing deep emotions to every scene. The OST perfectly captured the atmosphere and made the story even more heartwarming. Though the ending was bittersweet, it leaves a sense of solace and hope as the couple reunites in the afterlife. A drama that lingers in your heart long after the final episode... It's truly a "MASTERPIECE".Was this review helpful to you?

Loyal Brave True
This is the very first drama that I cried so hard at the last two three episodes. My heart ached so much while knowing the truth between them and the way they misleading them by not having proper communication lead them to the end 😔. I still have many doubts in some scence that I still not figured out but they did really amazing 😍 job. Still I'm crying and for sure this is not what anyone expected in the end..
.
Love gave birth to worry
Love gave birth to fear
.
Power and love can change a person truly brutal 😔

What I thought of the series: Love can survive everything but sometimes not. Love, tears, friendship and the afterlife. One's heart breaks into pieces. How much should two people who love each other suffer. I hope in the afterlife that they get to live a peaceful life with lots of love. You can find more of my reviews on Instagram. :D See my homepage about my Instagram account. The Historical Chinese BL drama we've all been waiting for !! (2nd Review)
I just don't know where to start. The title is literally what happens in this BL. This BL was so good that I had to give it a 10/10 review because this is my second one so far after finding out about MDL. I'm so happy I found it in my recommendations. I LOVED IT SO MUCH, I'M JUST SO HAPPY I FOUND IT BECAUSE I WOULD'VE DIED WITHOUT KNOWING THERE WAS A BL ON CHINESE HISTORICAL DRAMA!.Story: The story was so different from what I'd had in mind when I started watching it. I loved how it progressed, and it ended as I would have imagined after watching the 11th episode, but not entirely because of how different elements are added. I loved how the story writers didn't leave us hanging in the end, they left us with a bittersweet happy ending, which made me really happy because I thought it would end in one of them getting killed or not reuniting together, but no. (I still shed tears). incredible story, I loved every single bit of it. one thing tho, Shu He is so kind-hearted that he still went out with Zi Ang, who basically destroyed all his kingdom and family. I totally understood his feelings at the end because imagine going through all that?? He's more kind-hearted than me for sure.
Acting/Casting: The acting was phenomenal. Like they dropped tears where they were needed and gave smiles when needed. I just wish that Shu he given a little bit more words of affection on how much he actually loves Zi Ang(it's the diction problem with that one). Both Actors did AMAZING in their roles, they deserve to be more recognized for their hard work(plus they're handsome. I couldn't keep my eyes off of Shu He who is Mi Jin). Every single casting member seemed to be perfect, no flaws. They did amazing portraying the emotions and feelings for the viewers (I cried happy tears and sad tears, I don't know how many times), but yeah, amazing work.
Music: The choice of music was good too. I don't have much to say about it, honestly, but I love the OST(?) of the beginning and ending of each episode. I just love Chinese music where there's like a flute doing a beautiful melody or some other kind of instrument like guqin(it is called like that, right?)
Rewatch Value: I would for sure watch it again when I have the time. It's just that the emotions gets to me sometimes(I overreact), but yeah, I would for sure rewatch when I have no other things to watch.
OVERALL I'M JUST SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS BL! COULDN'T BE HAPPIER! 🫶🫶

When you love a fool
The drama starts off slow with episode 1. My interest built up from episode 2. Everything was great until ep 7, I believe. Then things started going downhill for me. I understand that some stories are tragedies and I have enjoyed them too but forcefully turning a story into a tragedy didn't sit well with me. I just couldn't understand Xiao Shu He's behaviour. He was desperate to be a martyr and extremely selfish.Like many historical dramas, Kill To Love also has a power struggle plot. The problem was that Duan Zi Ang had learnt to fight for survival. But Xiao Shu He led a cushy life and failed to take charge and lead. I understand not everyone is capable of leading. But I don't understand his hate that lead to tragedy for everyone including himself. Why did he refuse an alliance? But later he acted as though he cared for his people. An alliance would have greatly benefitted the kingdom.
As for the romance, initially the chemistry was great but towards the end, everything was uncomfortable and almost intolerable to watch just because of Xiao Shu He.
In the whole story, the one I pity most is Duan Zi Ang. He suffered needlessly. There was also a certain medicine recipe that I wish had been used but they didn't. So the final scene was just not my cup of tea.
With every episode towards the end my mental rating kept dropping because I couldn't understand why this one person is behaving so obstinately. It ruined my overall experience. Actually there were 2 more stubborn side characters. It seems no one wanted positivity in their lives.
Nonetheless, for the most part, it was interesting even if I don't include the first and last 4 episodes. I disliked the ending because it felt like a fool's dream. The actors did a decent job on their part when it came to emoting. I found them quite stiff in episode 1 though to the point that I couldn't get into the story and nearly dropped it.
Personally, this isn't a drama I could rewatch.

Genuinely impressed
It is quite obvious that the series had a very low budget and yet it delivered one of most tragic and beautiful love story ever. I have no words. The acting, the storyline, the beautiful camera angles and the quality of them. I have no complaints. It was done perfectly. I am sure if they had more money to do more episodes they would have done a better job in showing more of their relationship growth and more of the pain they lived through.Overall it has climbed to my top 10 favorite series of all time.

🌸 Kill to Love (Historical BL Drama)🌸
This drama is nothing less than a MASTERPIECE. From beginning to end, it carried me through love, sacrifice, pain, and emotions so powerful that they will stay in my heart forever. The couple’s chemistry was breathtaking 😍 — their bond felt so real, so deep, and so unforgettable. Please, we truly need more BL dramas from them 🥺❤️.
✨ Production & Story.
Everything about this series was crafted with perfection — the direction, cinematography, costumes, background music, poetry, and dialogue all came together to create magic. The plot was rich and emotional, filled with heart-wrenching scenes and unforgettable moments. What touched me most was that it relied not on vulgarity, but on pure emotional intensity between the characters — making it timeless and truly meaningful.
✨ Acting Performances.
Every actor, from the leads to the supporting cast, gave their very best to light up this drama. But the leads were simply extraordinary:
Mr. Zang Ze Xu (as Duan Ziang)— He carried anger, revenge, pain, rejection, and yet the tender care for his loved one with such depth that every emotion reached our hearts.
Mr. Mi Jin (as Xiao Shu) — With just his eyes, he spoke volumes: softness, sacrifice, agony, betrayal, humiliation, and unconditional love. His emotional expression was beyond words.
Together, they created a love so raw and powerful that it will live forever in our memories. I hope with all my heart to see them together again — not only in historical BL dramas but also in modern dramas❤️🙏🥺.
✨ About the Ending
My heart struggles with the ending 😭. I dreamed they would marry, build a small home in the suburbs, and live a peaceful life together — that was the happy ending I wished for them. Instead, the ending shattered me. It tore my heart apart, left me broken inside, and I can’t move forward because I am still stuck with them. The pain is killing me 😭. They deserve better..
This love story has carved a permanent place in my soul.
✨ Final Thoughts
Even with all the pain, this drama remains one of the greatest BLs I have ever watched. To the director, the writers, the actors, and every single person behind this — thank you for giving us such a precious gift.
To Zang Ze Xu and Mi Jin: I love you both so deeply ❤️❤️.
Please bless us by reuniting on screen again. Your love, your acting, your chemistry — it’s unforgettable.
With endless love and gratitude,
Dula🌸

The best BL
"Kill to Love" is hands down the best BL series I’ve ever watched in my 21 years of life. The character designs are absolutely stunning and flawless. I honestly started watching it randomly and was shocked by how incredible it turned out to be.It’s not just about romantic love, the story also explores love for country, royal family conflicts, and political power struggles. The acting is emotional and deeply moving, and every scene is beautifully crafted and visually breathtaking.
I’ve already rewatched it five times, and I’m still in love with it. Truly a masterpiece. 100% worth your time!

To love the one you hate, and hate the one you love
Kill to Love was AMAZING. I am so impressed with the writers ability to tell such a complex, engaging story in the time that they had with this show. The major conflict of loyalty vs love vs revenge, and the twisting of hate and love....all of it was incredible. The ONLY reason I gave this a 9.5/10 was I couldn't help but wonder how much better it could've been if they just had a few more episodes - a few sections in the last 1/3 of the show felt a bit too rushed, but I am still so amazed at everything this show managed to do.When an assassin infiltrates the palace in an attempt to kill the crown prince, the crown price's brother, sixth prince Xiao Shu He, is forced to help the assassin escape. In doing so, Shu He feels that this assassin is someone he might know. Suspiciously soon after, Shu He narrowly avoids an "assassination attempt" himself, thanks to a chance encounter with his long-lost childhood friend, Duan Zi Ang. Fully aware that Zi Ang attempted to kill his brother, and that he was behind this fake assassination attempt, Shu He brings his friend back to the palace to help him recover - and to keep an eye on him. As Zi Ang attempts to gain information to help in his assassination of the crown prince, Shu He attempts to gain information on Zi Ang - but as the two continue to spend time together, they can't help but develop feelings. Are these feelings real, or is it a tactic to get closer to the one they're trying to kill? With their home nations on the brink of war, how far are they willing to go to deceive one another?
All I can say is WATCH THIS! It's not heavy on cultivation like I thought it might be, but the politics of the two countries is INCREDIBLE. A sixth prince who wants nothing to do with politics; an assassin who is forced to follow orders; a crown prince becoming power hungry; an emperor hidden away in his palace; and a country on the brink of an all-out war....you can imagine that both the external pressures of war and the internal power struggles only enhance the relationship tension between Zi Ang and Shu He. And of course, I have to mention how much I enjoyed that this relationship wasn't censored! It was truly wonderful to watch, and kept me guessing about who was telling the truth, and who had other motives. ABSOLUTELY worth watching!!!
