Episode Title: Impulsive, Kiss
On a night drowned in heavy rain, Il Jo impulsively kisses the sleeping Jeong Han. A fight at a funeral, Jeong Han’s sudden offer for them to live together, and covering Il Jo’s hospital bills pull the two of them into a messy tangle of shared life and lingering debts. Then one evening, after having dinner with Seung Jae and heading home, things shift. Jeong Han, drunk and unguarded, kisses Il Jo again, and suddenly they’re standing at the point where a new relationship begins… along with all the trouble that follows.

Thundercloud Rainstorm Episode 1 Reactions
I love starting shows more than anything. But not finishing them. They lowkey have a height difference, and I can't lie, I dont know what is happening, but I am here because of TikTok and reels lmao. He is very sexy in pain, I fear. 3k is a lot holy fuck. "Pay with your body." Very forward. A little bit of a random plot I can't lie to you. This show is very crisp sounding. They are cousins but it could be worst lmaooooo. What is this show even about lmao? 8/10 okay bye!

why one BL after the other suddenly they all different levels of toxic?!? like WTF is going on - idk if to laugh of cry. **************ironically i kinda agreed with Jeong Han, when he watched Lee Il Jo get stomped on & beaten by his half-brother. like who willingly turns themselves into a doormat & keeps begging when they r getting the living sh*t beaten out of them? at no point self-respect, self-preservation, bleedin anger at the injustice of it all, didn't make him counter-attack?!? defend himself with words or actions??? nope, he just took it??? ******************************************************************************************so yeah i agreed with Jeong Han, as i was feeling more or less the same things - Lee Il Jo annoyed me. but then Jeong Ha added the f*cked up line, where he wondered "...how much more pathic he could get..." sounded like he was gonna try & find out... which turns him into a sadist & idk how much i am into that.... & as much as Il Jo is a walking victim - he's already down idk how much i am gonna enjoy anyone kicking him & adding to his misery. but thankfully this short so i wont have to suffer too much (i hope).

This first episode was fullof tension and the sexual tension was so good. There is an element of toxicity which raises lots ofquestions about the connection between the mls.

My first impression of this series was the actor who plays Il Jo: Yoon Ji Sung. He was part of one of my favorite bands, Wanna One, and I knew I was interested in acting, but I never, EVER, imagined I'd be in a BL, much less one like this. When I started watching it, I tried reading a bit of the manhwa first, and I think the lack of information in the series that exists or is given in the manhwa is what makes many people misunderstand the fact that they're cousins, for example. When they're cousins by marriage, they're not biological cousins. Besides, technically, your in-laws, if you're never in contact with them, aren't technically your family. So I think that part could be misinterpreted and could also scare off some viewers.Il Jo is weak; he has a tragic, sad past. He's emotionally dependent on the idea of happiness that a love or family he never had could have given him, and everything falls apart when his father dies, and he goes to see him at the wake. His brother, I suppose, upset by their father's death, sees his half-brother at the funeral and beats him up, abuses him. Jeonghan arrives and sees Il Jo vulnerable, thinking how pathetic he is, but being fragile himself, he falls into empathy and feels bad for Il Jo and how dependent he is.Although Jeonghan is portrayed as the more dominant or less helpless one, he too falls for Il Jo: they both cling to each other. Jeonghan is alone; he doesn't seem to have anyone in his life. He works and has colleagues, and apparently a friend, but he doesn't have a partner. He's usually alone and is cold and distant. Il Jo is also alone; he has no family and is desperate for love and companionship. The moment he finds someone else, he falls in love because when someone is in an emotional situation, they become attached to whoever gives them help, even though "help" is not the right word to use in this situation.THEY BOTH FALL IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER. That's why Jeonghan took him in, why Il Jo kisses him, why Jeonghan paid for his surgery, and why he lets him stay at his house. He says he doesn't want to feel guilty, but in reality, he wants companionship. They both want the same thing; they aren't so different. This episode was amazing; it was raw, crude, and passionate. It may not be the best, but it is a great pilot with a lot of potential. It also might not be a new concept or whatever, but it's important for Korean BL, for it to be more experimental and for it to be more newanced. Amazing work, amazing acting, great show, and one of the best Korean BLs out there, and I'll die on that hill.

Idk dude, but this is easily the strongest first episode of any KBL I’ve seen in 2025. Like, wow. They really snapped with this one. The atmosphere is so good, The acting captures all the shifts in tension—both the quiet, restrained moments and the bolder, more intimate ones. And the kissing scenes? The couch kiss, in particular, plays out as a slow, lingering, and deeply sensual moment that perfectly captures the tension between the characters. And the chemistry between the leads is genuinely palpable. As a Jisung fan from day one—like, he’s been my pick since day one—Dude is a man-kisser like. Jisung doing KBL was not on my 2026 bingo card. That’s such a good start, such a good good good start, oh my God. I mean, Rio being a man-kisser is nothing new. I watch all his series, he’s a great kisser, a real man-kisser, he just devours every co-star they pair him with. But Jisung? Oh my God. Never in my life did I think I’d see Jisung kiss a guy. Like, genuinely, did not see that coming. But damn… I’m so into it.

Thundercloud Rainstorm delivers one of the most explosive openings I have seen in a Korean BL. The darker cinematography and moody tone set it apart immediately, giving the story an intensity and emotional weight that makes it impossible to stop watching. It feels mature, atmospheric and bold in all the right ways.Jeong Ri U has always impressed me in short projects like Bad Guy, Blue Boys and Seoul Blues, but seeing him in a full BL series is on another level. He is tall, handsome and effortlessly seductive, the perfect match for the adorable and expressive Yoon Ji Sung. Their chemistry is electric from the very first moment they share the screen. The intimate scenes are a major highlight. The couch kiss is hot, slow and incredibly sensual. The kitchen bench kiss is just as intense. I love how both cousins are so forward with their feelings and actions. And since they are not related by blood, it avoids the tired step brother trope we see too often. Their dynamic feels fresh, daring and full of tension.
