Chidori Public High and Kikyo Private Academy sit side by side, yet they might as well be worlds apart. Kikyo is known for its elite students and polished reputation, while Chidori has a rough-and-tumble image, its students often dismissed as troublemakers. The rivalry between the two schools runs deep, with Kikyo’s students especially disdainful of their Chidori counterparts. Rintarou Tsumugi, a quiet but kindhearted student at Chidori, has grown used to people misjudging him because of his stern expression. He doesn’t mind—he has his close friends, and he secretly helps at his family’s bakery, a side of himself he keeps hidden. One day, while working, he notices a girl who abruptly leaves before he can speak to her. The next day, she returns—Kaoruko Waguri, a cheerful Kikyo student—to apologize, insisting she didn’t run because of his looks and that she sees the kindness in him. Despite their differences and the animosity between their schools, Rintarou finds himself drawn to Kaoruko’s warmth. Critiques
slow burn turns into a freezer burn
slow burn turns into a freezer burn around ep 10 as it started getting boring. The story seemd to just stall. "a slice of life" and " first crush" are accurate themes but "bland" should be added to the description. "sweet" is nice, but every character seems overly sensitive. I've seen a few anime series, [which also had slow paces] & enjoyed them, but in general, anime is not all that interesting to me . when I started drifting off at the beginning of ep. 10, I knew it was probably time to find something else. To finish or not to finish ? I probably will next time I need something soporific before bedtime.
