Ichigo Kurosaki seems like a typical teenager until a terrifying encounter changes his life forever. When a monstrous spirit known as a Hollow attacks his family, he crosses paths with Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper tasked with protecting the living from these malevolent beings. After Rukia is wounded in battle, Ichigo steps up to take her powers, transforming into a substitute Soul Reaper to defend those he loves. Now burdened with supernatural responsibilities, Ichigo must hunt down Hollows threatening his hometown. He isn’t alone for long, as his friends Orihime, Chad, and Uryu reveal their own hidden abilities and join his fight. Together, they navigate the dangers of their new roles, forging bonds stronger than any enemy they face. Critiques
Worth the watch
This anime is one of my all time favourites and arguably a classic, however, like most animes, it has its ups and downs. The characters are all so well developed that if you asked a Bleach fan who their favourite character is, they’d all most likely say a completely different character. The series adapts from the manga usually quite well, however the first season is a little bit of a drag. The filler arcs aren’t the best but it doesn’t matter as much because they aren’t imperative to the overall story. Overall, I love Bleach with all my heart and soul, whether it’s a so-so filler arc or one of the best animated fight scenes I’ve ever seen in my whole entire life.
