Hitori Gotou, nicknamed Bocchi, is a painfully shy teenager who spends her days practicing guitar alone, dreaming of one day connecting with others through music. Her solitary world changes when she crosses paths with Nijika Ijichi, a spirited drummer who impulsively recruits her to fill in for a missing guitarist in her fledgling band. Along with the laid-back bassist Ryou Yamada, they form Kessoku Band, though their shaky debut performance proves they have a long way to go. When their original guitarist, the lively Ikuyo Kita, returns, the group slowly finds their rhythm, bonding over their passion for music. Bocchi, despite her crippling social anxiety, begins to open up as she experiences the joy of performing with friends. Together, they navigate the highs and lows of high school life while chasing their musical dreams, learning that growth comes not just from skill, but from the bonds they forge along the way.
