Great addition for an era of KBLs that include more genres
For the longest time, KBLs stuck with basic, easy-to-produce/film pieces, but this drama is just another proof of the leaps KBLs have been making. After Secret Relationships, I didn't watch any KBLs for a long time because it gave me a true taste of what I wanted in my KBLs, which is a variety of genres. So you can imagine my happiness when I found out the SR director is also directing this.PROS:
1. First of all, I absolutely love that we got a drama in this genre, and I hope SK continues experimenting with the type of shows they create.
2. The main characters had sizzling chemistry. Their love-hate storyline was fascinating to watch, and the actors’ chemistry made it even better.
3. I particularly have to appreciate Kim Yoon Sik’s (Tae Son), Cho Min Kyu’s (Ha Neul), and
Seo Han Gyeol’s (Ja Hyeon) performances. The way they were able to emote and perform truly made me feel a lot of emotions, so props to them.
4. While the crime plot wasn’t anything new or out of this world, it still managed to keep me engaged and curious about what was going to happen after each episode. The show managed to create a good balance of romance and crime plots.
CONS:
If I had to critique this drama, there are a few things I would say:
1. This story could have really benefited from having longer or more episodes to flesh out the characters and the crime plot better. I felt like the last couple of episodes were a tad bit rushed in that regard. There was a lot of ‘say, but not show ’ stuff going on.
2. Some might not view this as a con, but for me, this was an annoyance.
A) The AI intro for the drama.
B) The use of AI to edit the ending scene.
I'm not the biggest fan of AI usage in my dramas, but if you're absolutely going to use it, it should at least be well-made or not so obvious. The very obvious use of AI in the intro dimmed my initial excitement going into the drama. However, because the actual story was very engaging, I was able to get over it. That was until I saw the ending scene. That ending scene felt like it came out of some other low-budget drama that has no correlation to the rest of this drama. It really took me out of the moment because I couldn’t stop face-palming and laughing at the stupidity of it. For me, that’s a fairly big blunder to make at the very end of the drama, where you’re supposed to feel emotional and content.
3. I feel like Park Si Woo’s (Lee Chae Ha) character was made to be a bit weak. If you’re an ex-cop who switched to be a prosecutor, I feel like you should at least have some basic defensive skills. However, this drama made this character a tad weak and unable to fight back against suspects, which is quite odd, especially since he’s an ex-cop who’s been to police school and was one of the top students. This aspect made the believability of this character go down for me.
Overall, this is a still a pretty great show to watch if you want something fresh out of Korean BLs. It has an engaging plot, great chemistry, and a good romance plotline. I would recommend giving this a try!

Finally a BL K-drama where the world didn't feel empty
I'm not used to Korean BL dramas having a budget or having a cast bigger than 4 people. This series had both. Maybe because it didn't really focus on the romance at all, to the point where I didn't believe they actually loved each other, so they decided to actually put money into it?The romance was so far into the background that they could have made this a bromance and had the 2 NC scenes replaced by investigation scenes, and it wouldn't have made a difference to the emotional level of the story. It was so unimportant that even the characters avoided the topic for most of the show. At least until we got closer to the end, and apparently the scriptwriters decided the show needed some emotion outside of sad and angry.
The script was also a little ridiculous in the beginning regarding Ju Taeseon's lines. I burst out laughing and said "What do you mean?" way too many times within the first couple of episodes alone.
The actors all did a great job, especially the actress for Oja Hyeon. She pulled off batshit crazy scarily well. She actually made me uncomfortable a couple of times. I would have liked to have seen more of her internal & family struggles because there was a lot more there than was unpacked.
The CGI only bothered me a little. After seeing a couple of series with the most fake CGI models recently, looking at you 'Double Helix', anything above it doesn't bother me as much.
Loved the OST. It's not often that I notice the OST; honestly, if I don't notice it, you've done a great job, but the OST really stood out here in a good way. I also really liked the OP; I never skipped it.
Now, as for the plot. I will admit that when it comes to crime dramas, I'm not the biggest fan because they never put enough research into things. I was mildly impressed with the amount of investigating being done in this series (it would have been nice to see both sides of things since it was obvious who was behind most of it) and that they made it make sense why they couldn't find any solid evidence. HOWEVER, I took points off for the fact that it was obvious who the son was and the victim's connections after learning about said secret son. I had already picked up on Song acting weird in episode 1, and he and Tak exchanged looks a couple of times that weren't normal. I didn't need them to connect the dots for me for the murders because everything clicked right away once we talked to Oja Hyeon's sister & learned about the possibility of a son. I understand it was only 10 30ish minute episodes, but that's why I said they should have just taken the romance out of this series.
Am I glad we finally got a BL K-drama with an actual budget and cast? Yes, but not at the expense of a better plot. Romance should enhance the plot, not weigh it down, which is how this felt to me.

Good effort, but falls short in many places.
The premise of the drama is good, it starts off well and intriguing, but the problems start showing on pretty early. It is a K-bl, so I did not expect it to be long at all, but even the run time that it has is not utilized well, sometimes things happen without motivation. For a crime drama there is barely any set up at times to many things, things just somehow fall into place at the right time, there is no background or introduction to substantial evidence, things just suddenly click and boom crime solved.Even on the relationship side it is lacking, they start off as sex partners but then suddenly start liking each other, and Taeson goes from hating Chaeha to suddenly liking him, we are not shown any reason as to why he would start liking him. Taeson says he does not hate Chaeha anymore because he is already miserable enough, but that is still not reason enough to start liking someone. And Chaeha liking Taeson also makes no sense because Taeson had been an absolute ass to him since the beginning.
The characters also feel hollow at times, Chaeha is always the damsel in distress and Taeson is the prince charming who almost always saves him. Chaeha is also stupidly resilient abuse and does not know how to stand for himself at times. Taeson is also super problematic, and forcefully kisses Chaeha the very first time, something that everyone seems to just glance over. The dialogue also feels incredibly shallow at times, not just between the leads but overall with all characters.
The ending also made absolutely no sense, the last scene felt like it was out of a romcom rather than a crime heavy genre, it also went completely off the aesthetics the drama followed in all the other scenes.
Complains aside, there were a few things I did appreciate. Like the effort to atleast dive into the crime genre (something that is not easy to execute, and often requires lots of efforts to be well done) with the small budget and run time that K-bls ususally have, so it was a good first try and I hope to see more K-bls in similar genres. Secondly the opening was also pretty well made. The setting and cinematography were also pretty well done, I like the darkness in the atmosphere throughout the drama, the gloomy weather, dark interiors, gave the heaviness of a crime show.

Let’s be real for a second we came into this expecting a dark, angsty Korean crime thriller about the "son of the killer" (Lee Chae-ha) and the "son of the victim" (Ju Tae-seon) untangling 15 years of corporate corruption and revenge.And while the plot was actually insane, fast-paced, and top-tier... WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT JU TAE-SEON.

Can we please get a moment of silence for Lee Chae-ha’s lips because JU TAE-SEON IS LITERALLY A VACUUM CLEANER IN A HUMAN FORM. 💀💨
Like, sir?! Is there any oxygen left in the room when this man decides to lock in?! The way Tae-seon kisses isn't just romance—it’s an aggressive intake of air and soul. He does not give a single damn about professional ethics, office walls, or the fact that they are mid-investigation. If Chae-ha is within a 3-foot radius, Tae-seon’s brain instantly switches off all logical thinking and switches on pure, unadulterated, 24/7 DOWN BAD HORNINESS.
The man spent half the series pretending to be a cold "office psychopath" with a dark revenge plot, but the moment he fell, he fell so hard he became completely feral. Every single kiss scene felt like Tae-seon trying to devour Chae-ha whole to keep him from escaping!
😭 The Emotional Rollercoaster & The Finale
Beyond Tae-seon being utterly unhinged for Chae-ha, the angst in this show was exquisite.
The pure tension and trauma between "son of the victim" and "son of the killer"
The way their past was weaponized against them, only for them to become each other's only safe haven
The transition from toxic obsession and revenge to literal "I will burn the whole world down to clear your father's name and protect you" devotions
When all the secrets exploded and the final pieces of the 15-year-old case fell into place, the tears were FLOWING. Seeing them navigate through all that blood, betrayal, and dark prosecution corruption to finally get a break... I am literally crying in the club right now. 😭❤️
Final Verdict
Yang Kyung-hee directed absolute magic. The chemistry between Yoon Do-gun (Ju Tae-seon) and Park Si-woo (Lee Chae-ha) was so electric it should be illegal.
If you want heavy angst, peak Korean crime mystery, zero hesitation on consent, and a main lead who acts like he hasn't eaten in 15 years every time he kisses his man—The Prosecutor's Proposal is THE ultimate K-BL of 2026. 🏆🔥

The verdict? Worth every minute.
I'll be honest: I started The Prosecutor's Proposal expecting a fairly typical legal BL. Instead, what I got was a surprisingly engaging blend of crime thriller, mystery, slow-burn romance, and emotional healing.The legal aspect is certainly there, but this drama is much more interested in the people behind the investigations than in the courtroom itself. At the heart of the story are two men whose lives have been connected by a tragedy that happened fifteen years earlier. One has spent his entire life carrying the stigma of being "the murderer's son," while the other grew up as "the victim's son." Watching these two slowly uncover the truth together while confronting their own past is what makes the story so compelling.
One thing I really appreciated is that the mystery actually feels like... a mystery.
Every new piece of evidence raises more questions than answers, and the drama does a good job of keeping the audience guessing without becoming unnecessarily convoluted. The investigation surrounding the old casino murder, the corruption within the prosecution, and the hidden connections between the characters all come together in a way that kept me genuinely invested until the very end.
The romance is another pleasant surprise.
The relationship between Joo Tae Seon and Lee Chae Ha is built on trust that develops little by little. Their chemistry isn't loud or overly dramatic; it's found in stolen glances, quiet conversations, and the gradual realization that the one person they should probably trust the least is becoming the one they rely on the most. Neither of them is emotionally available at the beginning of the story. They carry years of trauma, resentment, and guilt, and the drama never asks us to forget that. Instead, it allows them to slowly break down the walls they've built around themselves. Their romance never feels like an interruption to the thriller—it becomes another layer of the story.
Park Si Woo and Yoon Do Gun have fantastic chemistry, but beyond that, they both understand when to hold back. Some of the strongest scenes don't rely on dialogue at all. A simple look or a moment of silence often says far more than an emotional speech ever could. Their performances have been one of the most consistently praised aspects of the series, and it's easy to understand why.
Considering that each episode runs for only around twenty-five minutes, I was also impressed by how much story the drama manages to tell. It rarely wastes time, every episode pushes both the mystery and the characters forward, and the pacing makes it incredibly easy to binge. If anything, my biggest complaint is that I simply wanted more.

Crime meets BL
A really good story especially for those who love their crime shows, good to follow the case, although the villain wasn't really a surprise. Acting was great, good chemistry and they all worked well together, i just think the pacing needed some improvements with the episodes being so short, especially the final which needed at least another episode to round everything off, its a complete story but needed a little bit more room to grow in that episode.One of my biggest pet peeves for shows is medical inaccuracies and miraculous injury recovery, this takes me out of the story and there were a few scenes throughout that broke the emotion due to how these were cut together, at least for me, especially when a hospital monitor shows a pulse ox of 100% but 0 pulse/heart rate, this isn't a spoiler of a death, this is a medical scene with a very inaccurate reading, made me snort, not the reaction you want to have in an emotional scene.
Honestly, great show overall though, and the intro is visually brilliant and the music on point. Highly recommend watching

This KBL is definitely One to Watch
Absolutely love the snake—it is so beautiful and I want one! Just kidding!I am always up for a good legal drama, especially when it is filled with unknown twists. This one completely threw me for a loop! The writer really thought outside the box by choosing to connect the two leads with an invisible, blood-colored string.
The prosecutor wasted no time claiming his victim, but I had so much respect for Chae Ha's mental strength to stand up for himself and refuse to let Tae Seon brand him other than himself.
As the crimes unfolded, I was honestly so lost and couldn't even guess what was going on or who was behind it. That is a total first for me, as I usually find it pretty easy to figure out the culprit. I kept thinking, "What is going on?" and even had to rewind a few times to make sure I didn't miss a thing!
As the show progressed, the prosecutor just wouldn't let up on Chae Ha... well, until... (if you know, you know, and if you don't, you seriously need to watch this!).
Finding out Tae Seon's true identity was really the icing on the cake for this unique pairing.
As for the ending—wow! I totally did not expect that one person who was off the grid the entire time to be the culprit.
This is the very first KBL drama I have watched that kept my full attention, and I thoroughly enjoyed it 100%. The foundation of the crimes kept me completely hooked and intrigued. With just 10 episodes at 25 minutes each, it made a huge impact without missing a single beat. It wasn't long-winded at all and gave the full story, so I never felt like anything was missing.
Huge credit goes to the wonderful screenwriter and director for such a fantastic drama!

Great series. But left things in the air
I really enjoyed this series, probably the best KBL in a while. The main pair has incredible chemistry, and I really hope they'll be paired together in a second BL. But I feel like the ending left so many things unresolved that it ended up bringing the show a bit down for me. The three main things are:- How did Tak enter the house and kill Woosung? We found the murder weapon but don't know how it happened, or how he got the door code since Taeseon heard the code being used twice and we know the first time was Chaeha's dad.
- Then there's the second prosecutor: was he even part of the scheme? Why did he call Chaeha over to the office at night, only to never be mentioned again after that, even though Haneul knew he called him over? Does the informant he mentioned in his call really exist?
- And finally, what is Haneul's actual story? Did he go to the orphanage and then his parents met him? When did he find out who his parents were? And how did he end up cleaning up their mess?

Where does that leave me?
We are so back, because I am, for once, actually finishing shows in one go. I don’t even know if this is fully out yet, but it is for vip so I downloaded it for my plane ride. I would give it an 8 (8.3) out of 10, and I am going to say what I liked, what I didn’t, and then do an episode overview, so let's run it.Okay, starting off strong with our actors. I am currently still in the air, so I can’t look up the actors' names, but genuine props to these two sexy ass men. Just phenomenal acting all around. Whether that be their love story, the crime plot, all of it was really good because of them. And they have officially raised my standards for Korean BL. If you look at any of my reviews, you know I do not watch Korean BL at all and am a Thai BL girlie (hence me on a flight back from Taipei and in turn Bangkok), because the Korean BLs, either they have the worst chemistry ever OR THEY PECK ONCE AND THE REST OF THE SHOW IS A HARD WATCH. But these two did really well, especially with their kissing and their two sex scenes. Truthfully, I am very impressed, so good job to them. (ALSO, we did not use our height difference enough; I am irritated as fuck, irritated as fuck).
I also quite enjoyed the connected cases. I thought it was really easy to follow while still staying entertaining, so that was also a really good job. They gave us everything and didn’t randomly introduce characters last minute, so I mean, once again, good on them; love to see these plots non-convoluted and actually interesting.
On more stuff I liked. This first thing is lowkey so random and bullshit, but it still stood out to me as something I enjoyed: the slants at the end of the episodes. Like, I know that's so weird and random, and it just signals the end of the episode, but I actually really enjoyed that, like, oh my god. Another thing I am very much a slut for was when they were talking about the cases, and they were actually in them and reenacting them. God, that was great, oh my god.
Regarding things I didn’t like, the main thing was the romance building. See, I expected it to be bad because every single mystery BL or crime center BL has the worst romance building ever. But despite this, I am still ultimately disappointed, because I quite enjoyed our couple. But I guess it’s whatever.
On the topic of romance, these MOTHER FUCKERS ARE SO TOXIC, more specifically big daddy. God, he is like irritatingly toxic too, and in some parts it wasn’t even hot; it was just pissing me off. Also a lot of forced kissing and forcing himself onto the other guy (even though the other guy was into it after the 1st one). I feel like they could’ve pushed back their sex scenes or something so it didn’t feel out of the blue and random. But yeah.
Next up, with things I didn’t like, I’m gonna say plot holes, or I am sorry, irrelevant ideas. The case with the lady who killed her husband. What did that have to do with anything? I am actually so lost. I mean, maybe it was to get the audience’s attention on the son, but also it was just very irrelevant; I don’t know. I feel like they could have done more with that because it was quite interesting. (This is also loosely based on this topic, but this whole show is a conflict of interest lmao; every last case the two of them have a conflict of interest with). THE UNCLE was another plot hole that could’ve been greatness. Like, oh, I know they sent him to jail, but that felt almost too easy and overall irrelevant to the plot.
Also not really the biggest fan of the, I don’t know if it's AI or CGI, but it's sprinkled in here pretty randomly, and lowkey takes you all the way out of the show, so they need to cool the fuck down on that shit, oh my god.
And finally, for things I was not very fond of, was the ending. We spent what, 9, 10 episodes building up to this shit; we got the reveal with the son, which I very much enjoyed, and then the story folded and they are like, oh, we arrested everyone! Like what? I need my clarity, my revenge; I want to see them being taken away in handcuffs, not just AI. And their whole getting into a relationship pissed me off, silly. Like why did that even feel rushed? Girl bye. ALSO, did we ever find out if Lee's dad was innocent or what? They should have made that more clear.
Episode overview time!!! Just funny shit I have written in the notes app about this show. Episode 1: “Lowkey about to miss my layover in Taipei because my Bangkok flight is delayed but you know at least I have Korean bl...hopefully these two aren't awkward kissers I beg.” Episode 2: “Bitch, what the fuck was that? HELLLOOO???? Why did we start choking him out? I am so lost, and why did we kiss him if we hate him? AH NAH. That's a lawsuit incoming, but we aren't locked in enough. Nah, the whole police department coming down if this was me. Lee, step your shit up, dude.” Episode 3: “They need me on this team, I swear to god. Inspector a bitch for the love of the game. Like I need a really good reason for you not to like Lee, that's not he's the son of a murderer because what does that have to do with him, I'm confused?” I now understand lmao. Episode 5: “Lee just got stabbed, but I really couldn't take it seriously because it was the music that they played in the sex scene of my stubborn so I thought they were about to fuck, but he just got stabbed.” Episode 7: “We got a random half-ass sex scene thrown at the start because Lee likes poking the emotionally unstable bear with a flaming dildo dude.” Episode 8: “Also, I don't know why we are making this a big deal. He made it very clear that he hated you and wanted you gone, and you didn't suspect why? Like, he made it clear that he hated you because you are a murderer's son; you ever wonder why? We lack common sense and it shows. I am impressed we have both made it this far in the world with this little common sense. I do wish that he was the evil lady's son; that would have been a fire fucking twist, oh my god.” Episode 9: “Once again, they need me on this team pronto. But yeah, the director coming to his house to choke him out was ACTUALLY CRAZY.”
Yeah. It’s a short watch, so I would say check it out. The romance building is ass, but it’s still enjoyable because the plot is very continuous. Okay bye!

One of the Best K-BLs Ever! Insane Chemistry, Just Wish It Had More Episodes
The Prosecutor's Proposal easily solidifies itself as one of the standout K-BLs of the year and a top-tier entry in the entire genre. The director’s execution is stellar, and the actors are flawlessly cast with an off-the-charts onscreen chemistry that leaves you wanting more.However, my personal grievance is that the 10-episode format forced a somewhat rushed pacing toward the end. It left things feeling slightly lacking for me, which was a minor disappointment for a story with this much depth. That being said, this flaw doesn’t take away from how fantastic the drama is as a whole. It’s an absolute must-watch, and I'm highly anticipating the leads reuniting for a second project in the future.

Not a good start but a great finish
I must admit, I almost stopped watching this series during the third episode. It was really difficult to get through, because both protagonists were very unlikable, each for different reasons. One was a spineless coward and the other was an obnoxious bully. ...BUT, thankfully I stuck with it. By episode 4 things started to change for the better. Yes, it does bring the BL theme front and center, but the character became so much more enjoyable to watch and the chemistry between these two really became a strong point of the drama.
Si Woo & Yoon Sik give it their all and give some very provocative scenes together, delivering not the usual hugs & kisses many BL's throw at us, but rather some rough sex they make look very believable.
The story matches the acting, very in depth with a good supporting cast and a few sub plots that add to the main story.
Definitely one of the better BL's of 2026!!

Heart sizzling, fluttering, and twisting story throughout!!
Honestly, it was one of the best BLs I've ever watched and I have most definitely watched a lot. It makes me so happy to see how far queer shows have come. We are finally getting films and shows that have actual plots and happy endings. Seeing the struggles of queer love is important but the lack of positive ones make it seem hopeless. With Thai BLs we finally started getting happy endings more frequently but still they were most extremely toxic relationships that were portrayed. Most of them without elaborate plots. Don't even get me started on GLs they are only basically coming into existence now. Back when I first started watching Kdramas I never thought I would see the day were we would get full BL shows but I am pleasantly surprised.
On to the actual show at hand.
Kim Yoon Shik is a phenomenal actor with so much talent, he deserves to go on to bigger and better projects. I genuinely hope to see him again in a queer show too. Park Si Woo, in my opinion, started quite stiff in terms of his acting but he genuinely got so much better. Si Woo and Yoon Shik have phenomenal chemistry. Lee Chae Ha and Ju (Kang) Tae Seon made my heart tingle with their chemistry. I was watching every scene with oogling eyes, a bright (maybe somewhat disturbing) smile on my face, and a pounding heart. This is one of the best on scene chemistry I have seen.
Tae Seon's and Chae Ha's intimate scenes were jaw-dropping. I could feel the tension and the passion through the screen. They weren't calling Yoon Shik a vacuum cleaner for nothing. Some of the, if not the best, kiss scenes I have witnessed. Tae Seon was devouring truly. Although, Si Woo's acting in terms of intimate scenes did slightly seem to lack a bit in passion, by the end of the show I think we got our second vacuum cleaner. Mans was eatinggg!!
The production quality was amazing for a BL, probably one of the best. The older supporting cast were veterans that I had seen before too. The story was amazing and had a lot of levels to it as well. However, it definitely could have been better. In my humble opinion, the ending was rushed. They definitely could have taken another one to two episodes more to end the show. There was all this tension working up to the ending but the ending fell extremely flat in my opinion. I also felt that Tae Seon and Chae Ha became lovers way too suddenly. Tae Seon going from hating Chae Ha to loving Chae Ha wasn't gradual enough. It felt slightly abrupt to me. Their confrontation of their secrets and feelings also felt slightly logically off to me. Tae Seon's jealousy wasn't built and Song Ha Neul's connection to Chae Ha has the potential second love interest was unworked on. Also I swear I think they used a green screen for the ending scene because why did it look so off haha. The show would have been better if it was a 1hr 10 ep show where they would have had more time to work on the scenes to support the details of the story.
Overall, regardless of these little misses, it was an amazing show. I would recommend that everyone watch it.
