If there was no law or power for this situation, FL could set up a law to prevent other widows living a life of a servant for her dead husband family while her husband is living his luxury life with mistress (this can help to showcase fl skill as a scholar) Since FL is a tutor, there could have been a storyline of her getting help from her pupils (rich or noble birth) to get her revenge on the Third Master and later on, she could have her pupil infiltrate the imperial court. Thus, reducing the emperor power in the court. It would have been satisfying.
