Nagatan to Aoto: Ichika no Ryori Cho Season 2 (2026)

More delicious food and recipes, and focus on growing family and family business.

The second season of “Nagatan and Aoto: Ichika’s Cook Book” continues to bring us delicious food and educational cooking demonstrations and recipes. Now that Ichika has found her place in the kitchen and continues to run the family business, the focus this season is on growing the business and growing the family.

The romance here is mature and supportive, and I might have missed the shy adorableness in season 1. It’s less about Kitchen Knife and Green Chili Pepper, but about family and Kuwanoki. I adore seeing how their little family grows and particularly enjoy the addition of little Michiya. He’s so adorable and the acting by the child actor, Mano Kota, is really good.

On the other hand, I am not sure how I feel about the second brother, Sakae. He gives off such a creepy feeling with his fake smile. Each time he shows up, he gives me the creeps and I want him off my screen. I also think his arc ended a little too easily. Given the havoc he created, I don’t think he suffers enough. He’s a disrespectful creature.

I don’t remember a whole lot in season 1, but I feel that there’s more international cuisine in this season than the last. But I could have misremembered as well.

This is an easy to watch slice-of-life drama about family and family business. It features delicious food that might inspire those who like to cook. My vague gut feeling tells me I might have enjoyed season 1 more, probably because of the romance. I would recommend this season if you enjoy the first.
