From wrong guy...... to Mr. Right
Fu Ren Chao Hui, Qing Leng Fu Zong You Ku Le was an interesting drama because the relationship between the ML and FL completely changes from beginning to end.Su Yan spent four years dating her husband and three years married to him believing they were building an ordinary life together. Then she accidentally discovers that the man she thought was poor is actually a billionaire heir in the entertainment industry. That alone was a huge betrayal, but what made it worse was discovering him celebrating his childhood sweetheart Xue Er's birthday and giving her expensive jewelry.
Instead of understanding why Su Yan was hurt, he expected her to accept his explanation and remain the understanding wife she had always been.
Well...he definitely underestimated his wife. 😂
Su Yan doesn't beg, argue endlessly, or compete with another woman for her own husband. She gives him something he wasn't expecting—a divorce certificate.
I really enjoyed watching the FL change after this. Su Yan finally stops putting the ML and their marriage ahead of herself. She realizes that loving someone doesn't mean accepting disrespect. Watching the ML go from believing his wife would never leave him to realizing that he could actually lose her was one of my favorite parts.
The ML frustrated me tremendously in the beginning. I believe he loved Su Yan, but he became too comfortable with her love. He hid such an enormous part of his identity from her and failed to understand how his relationship with Xue Er looked from his wife's perspective. Only after Su Yan walks away does he begin understanding exactly what he has damaged.
From there, their relationship becomes a mixture of anger, attraction, regret, jealousy, and feelings neither one can completely bury.
Another thing I appreciated was that this drama wasn't afraid to acknowledge the physical and sexual needs between two adults. Their attraction doesn't magically disappear because their relationship is complicated. The actors weren't afraid to commit to that part of their characters, and their chemistry made those scenes believable rather than awkward. It gave their relationship a more mature feeling than many short dramas where adults somehow behave like physical attraction doesn't exist.
However, my biggest problem was the ending.
It was rushed.
After spending so many episodes developing these characters and their complicated relationship, suddenly everything seemed to race toward the finish line. I wanted more emotional closure between the ML and FL instead of simply being expected to accept that everything was resolved.
And then there is the young boy.
What happened to him?!
His character had enough importance that I expected some kind of conclusion, yet it felt like the writers simply stopped writing his storyline. There was no proper explanation or closure. He was there—and then suddenly his story basically disappeared.
That bothered me because when you introduce a child into an emotional storyline, you can't just forget about him when it's time for the ending.
Despite those problems, I genuinely enjoyed this drama. The ML and FL had strong chemistry, their relationship went through believable emotional changes, and both actors committed themselves to their roles.
The drama wasn't afraid to show marriage as something complicated—love, betrayal, jealousy, desire, anger, forgiveness, and sexual attraction can all exist between the same two people.
I just wish the writers had given the ending the same attention they gave the relationship.
Great chemistry, an interesting adult romance, and two leads who weren't afraid to play their characters fully—but please, writers, give ALL your characters an ending! 😂❤️
