Noona, You Are a Woman to Me Season 2
Going into Episode 2, I was excited, but one of the first things I noticed was that we seemed to have lost a few commenters. I was especially sad because it felt like we lost another woman's perspective in the discussion.
One of the early conversations about not feeling butterflies really resonated with me. I could relate to that feeling immediately.
My favorite female cast member so far is Ji Hye. She reminds me a little of Jessi. I honestly think the lighting in the house doesn't do her any favors because she looks absolutely gorgeous in some of the nighttime scenes. I couldn't tell if it was the lighting, makeup, or something else, but there was definitely a difference.
Compared to last season, I think the men are much more attractive overall. I joked that they were practically cast specifically for me. Last year I only had one guy I liked throughout the entire season, but this season there are several people who have caught my attention. I also like that there seems to be a range of personalities and lifestyles among the men. One guy is working out while another is washing dishes in the kitchen, and I enjoy seeing those contrasts.
Early on, my main ship was Yun So and Ju Hee. They're cute together, although I wasn't nearly as invested in them as I was in my favorite ship from last season.
I was genuinely upset that Ji Hye received zero first-impression votes. When she started receiving QR votes later, I felt a lot better. At this point, I'm very protective of her and will probably be annoyed if she gets hurt.
Some of my early pairing thoughts were:
Jun Han and Ji Hye
Si Won and Ji Seung
Yun So and Ju Hee
I hadn't really committed to a pairing for Jin Wu yet.
Si Won is incredibly cute, and both he and Yun So look like models or actors. As the episode went on, I also found myself becoming increasingly fond of Jun Han. By the end, I was definitely developing a soft spot for him.
One of my favorite moments was watching Yun So and Ju Hee interact. Their scenes had me completely smiling and cheering for them.
Something I kept thinking about throughout the episode was dating-show etiquette. I feel conflicted because contestants are supposed to explore different connections, but at the same time there are expectations around consistency and emotional honesty.
That's why I struggle with Jin Wu a little. He gave his first-impression vote to one person, sent a QR vote to someone else, and then went on a date with a completely different person. That's three separate people. Personally, I don't love that approach, but I try to remind myself that the format of the show allows for it and it's technically fair.
What bothered me more was Yun So's reaction when Ju Hee admitted she had someone in the back of her mind. She wasn't even strongly attached to that person, but Yun So looked genuinely rattled by the answer. My reaction was basically: why ask the question if you're not prepared to hear an honest answer?
By the end of the date, I felt like Yun So was becoming a little too intense too quickly. It started feeling slightly love-bomby to me. What made it worse was that he seemed uncomfortable with Ju Hee keeping her options open while the overall environment of the show encourages exactly that. The double standard frustrated me.
At this point, one of my biggest concerns is how Yun So will handle future relationships in the house. If he ends up hurting Ji Hye after some of the things he's said, I'll be genuinely annoyed.
That said, I also found him interesting because he showed a lot of vulnerability. I noticed moments where he seemed insecure, especially when comparing himself to some of the other men in the house. There were hints that he might feel self-conscious about not fitting traditional masculine expectations as closely as some of the others. That added a layer of complexity to him and made me more interested in understanding where his behavior is coming from.
Overall, my biggest takeaways from Episode 2 are that Ji Hye remains my favorite female cast member, Jun Han is rapidly becoming my favorite male cast member, Si Won is adorable, Yun So and Ju Hee are still my favorite pairing, Jin Wu remains the hardest person for me to read, and I'm already emotionally invested enough that I know I'll be yelling at my screen before the season is over.
