双程 ‧ Drama ‧ 2026

After watching the 4 episode I am genuinely curiiosed did lu feng cheated on yichen in the novel or not because in the drama it does look like he did

According to what I’ve heard from the novel, yes. But in the Series he did not

In the novel, during the first breakup, when Lu Feng has to go to the USA, Yi Chen (because of his little brother's plea) starts a relationship with Qi Lang, and they even have sex. Later, Lu Feng and Yi Chen reunite and reconcile until the mother gets worse and dies, leading to Yi Chen's lavender marriage. During that period—20 years instead of the 5 in the series—Yi Chen has one son with Zhuo Lan because it is said that he fulfilled his husband duties. Meanwhile, Lu Feng, in those 20 years, stays with multiple lovers, all of them with features that remind him of Yi Chen. He even has a son with a woman whose gaze reminded him of Yi Chen's eyes one night when he was drunk. The woman tries to stay longer, but in the end, the relationship ends. However, Ke Luo (Lu Feng's son) continues to stay with Lu Feng. Ke Luo doesn't know that Lu Feng is his actual father; he thinks he is his uncle. Also, regarding these multiple bed partners, in the last volumes, there is a situation where Lu Feng thinks he might have AIDS and might have passed it to Yi Chen after the second reconciliation (SPOILER: he didn't). The last episode of the series, where Lu Feng is treated for his bipolar disorder, doesn't exist in the novel; he goes to the hospital to find out if he has AIDS or not. In the novel, he continues with his obsession with Yi Chen and his nasty behaviour. (It is important to mention that Lu Feng's behaviour in the novel is far worse and he doesn't even get treatment, but do not forget that you are reading a Dark Romance where usually the characters are clearly persons with grey / questionable morality.)

Why lufeng relationship with women ended ?? How many they were togher

Vo. 2 C20

“Where was I yesterday?” I tapped my forehead lightly with my index finger, ‘’ Yes, we were talking about Xiao Luo, correct? When I first met him I got a shock, he looked exactly like that woman.”

“You remember that woman, I have already mentioned the other day, but I can’t remember her name either, her family name should be Ke …… Have I not told you that her eyes look just like yours? A long shaped, single eyelids, looks honest and down to earth, when the corner of her eyes lit up it looks just like a fox …… but a little dumber than a fox, how can you be as cunning as a fox …….”

My fingers brushed across his tranquil closed eyes.

Why do you not open your eyes and just take one look at me?

“She begged me to sleep with her. You know I would never be attracted to a woman …… but those eyes of hers …… took one look at me and it reminded me of you.”

“After sleeping with her I left, but she kept following me, coming up with various attempts to keep me. She told me she was pregnant.” I paused, trying to recall that woman’s light, mournful face, “But I left her anyway. She did not mean anything to me, she isn’t you.”

“So you can guess by now, Xiao Luo is my child.” I chuckled, “I never thought I’d ever have a son …… it’s such an odd feeling …… I felt a pang of heartache when I saw him, he is my son …… there’s a piece of me flowing in him ……”

A little stuck with the choice of appropriate words.

“Well, I am not sure how to put it, but you should be able to understand, right?” I cast a trusting glance at the unresponsive guy on the bed, “I love him as much as you love Zhuo Wen Yang. I even gave him the jade pendant. He is the eldest male offspring of the Lu family after all. But …….”

I laughed at myself, “I haven’t told him I’m his father. Isn’t it better just to be an uncle to him? He trusts me so much, is naturally so close to me, he told me, ‘If only you were my father’, do you know, how contented I was just to hear that.”

Read the novel , you will find the answers that you want.

So in the novel, despite LF not having a mental illness YC still stays with him?

Thanks for your description of the book. Sadly i don’t have time to read novels. But I loved A Round Trip To Love so much I was curious about the differences but especially the ending as we didn’t get a proper ending with the original

There is a lot more reason, and it will be a long discussion because there were a lot of things changed in the show that actually led to why YC stayed with LF.

tldr:

1) In the book, YC actually almost fell in love to QL and they did have an actual relationship, so when it was revealed that it was actually lil bro's plan and QL is in love with lil bro, it destroyed YC's trust towards his brother completely.

2) It wasn't shown in the show pretty well, but YC actually was pretty obsessive of LF too. The whole dialogue in the show where LF fought against the principal and the school board, it was actually YC's monologue in the novel. YC always dreamed of LF whenever they fought and he had been dreaming of LF during their years of separation.

3) it was 20 years of separation in the book, and that is not a passing thing. they were in their 40s and that changed a lot of perspective when they finally sit down and think after the whole kidnapping things.

4) there were financial reason and health reason. the gunshot left YC's brain damaged so he cannot do job that require expertise, heck, he even can't peeled shrimp properly anymore, so LF took care of everything for YC. He was definitely dependent of LF.

This is why I always hate it whenever I saw someone complaining that the book promotes SA because the character ended up happy together, like what kind of happiness dependency is? Where one party had non-existent self-esteem while the other was very insecure that the other person would leave him at moments notice?

When I wrote “So in the novel, despite LF not having a mental illness YC still stays with him” that was just a response to what someone else wrote.

I’m definitely not complaining about the show or the novel. I was curious to the novels intent and the differences between the 3.

I really appreciate your response at it explains more. I would never complain about not knowing the source content. I am grateful to hear what it was. sadly I don’t have to time to read novels on top of everything else.

i got spoiled by novel readers they told me whole LF personality . thats why i hate LF novel version so much

I just binged the original movie version tonight. I definitely prefer those actors. Especially YC. The actor seemed too young looking in Helix.

I did notice so much more was shown story wise in the series for obvious reasons of it being a lot longer. Which was nice to know a bit more of the story.

I am not here to convince you to read the book, but there are reason why people still like the story and the book more despite LF in the book are worse and meant to be hated. So please left the discussion about the book to the people who actually had read the book.
