Que BL fofinho!

My Summer of You é super adolescente, super montanha-russa e tem aquela energia de Sessão da Tarde que faz dele um BL perfeito para assistir quando você só quer sentar, relaxar e acompanhar uma história gostosinha.

É um Coming of Age com uma história bem simples e acho que é justamente por isso que funciona tão bem. Você sabe que os dois provavelmente vão terminar juntos. A questão não é descobrir se isso vai acontecer, mas acompanhar como eles vão chegar até lá.

E o mais fofo é que estamos acompanhando dois adolescentes que claramente gostam um do outro, mas simplesmente NÃO SABEM SE COMUNICAR. Por causa disso, vivem se magoando, entendendo as coisas errado e criando situações que poderiam ser resolvidas com uma conversa. E acho especialmente engraçado que os dois sejam apaixonados por cinema, porque vocês consomem tantas histórias e ainda assim NÃO APRENDERAM A CONVERSAR? 😭

Gostei muito do Watarai. Ele passa por muita coisa durante a história e achei bonito acompanhar o momento em que começa a entender que não pode continuar ignorando os próprios sentimentos.

Já o Chiraru também precisa aprender que suas atitudes têm consequências — e, sinceramente, esse menino é meio obcecado pelo Watarai, viu? KKKKK. O malabarismo que ele faz só para conseguir falar com ele ou encontrar alguma maneira de mantê-lo por perto...

Mas acho que uma das coisas que mais gostei no final é justamente a sensação de que a história deles ainda não está completamente resolvida. São dois adolescentes que se gostam, mas que ainda têm MUITO para aprender sobre sentimentos, relacionamentos e sobre a própria vida.

Não diria que My Summer of You é revolucionário e nem acho que ele precisa ser. É simplesmente uma história adolescente, leve, fofa e cheia de sentimentos.

É aquele BL para assistir quando você não está procurando uma grande obra-prima, mas só alguma coisa capaz de melar um pouquinho o coração. 💗

A story of discovery but with no real kisses...

Of course I have to rant again, because in this story kissing has a deeper meaning especially in the finale. And both can't do it which sucks. That's a clear de-ranking for me.

But: We get a more realistic story, about disovering feelings one of the MLs did not know he had, about a stupid decision which could have ended a relationship before it began and about how to come together even with all the hurdles in their way. If you don't talk about what you're feeling, it always creates problems. The story was sensible told, some scenes are very emotional and feel realistic. For me, the pacing was off. The first half was very fast paced and there happens a lot, the second half is very slow, too slow imho.

Production quality was superb, even with some bonus landscape pictures which were really pretty and interesting. The intro song is also so "non-BL" and they hired veteran Erina Koyama for the rest. She did a bunch of soundtracks and a lot of BL soundtracks (also for "Love Is Better the Second Time" S1 & S2). Overall an interesting story, more realistic as I assumed in the beginning. The only downfall for this series are actors not committing to their roles, even when Mr. Oku Tomoya was already in "Minato's Laundromat" S1 & S2. It's especially disappointing because this time the kissing is story relevant. Also the pacing is off in the second half where the story streched too far. Still, I liked the series. It's not top notch, but still good.
