S: Saigo no Keikan Episode 1 Reactions
The directional main stunt was standard but nice nonetheless.
What was a problem though were the times when an almost thrilling story would be cut by something embarrassing and lame to boring and disturbing extents - too often to count.
Almost as if the story tried too hard about something and the lines were strictly predetermined (which they should have, but you know what I mean...).
Overall the pace of the story/episode just didn't work.
..But the camera was nice? And pretty boys were nice? So that, plus annoying shippiness of main guy and his "opponent" (?), plus the appearance of Anna Tsuchiya are giving this piece some hope!
(I think the whole problem is that the show made itself seem as something that would be dramatic and in the end was more about backing out and trying to work some cheap emotional magic, right off the bat...)
And I'm sorry, this is just a quick review that I coughed up, not something awfully analytic.
PS: Oh, well, the action parts also weren't dreadful.
Verdict: It was through and through okay..!!

PPS: I really tried to give it 6.5, but in the end it didn't allow me to *sad*

I waited until it was subbed to write a review for this episode. It's pretty good so far. I haven't seen the main lead(Osamu)since Paradise Kiss, but this is a different genre for him. Even though he is still comedic, he is starting to see a dramatic side of him too. I haven't finished a lot of Ayano Go's works, but I'm trying. Everybody says he is a good actor. So I'm trying for Osamu & Go. Hope it gets better.
