The King and his son

I have never seen such an incredible display of emotion between two men. One is the father of the other, and the other, thinking he was the son of the murdered emperor, lived his whole life dejected and alone.

The son, spouting words of hate and bitterness, that he sounded so hurt, that I--tried as I might to tell myself not to--broke down at the terrible words that no parent should ever wish to hear. From outrage to physical violence to despair and remorse, I even thought the King became the more pitiful of the two.
