If you watch the previous lanling, its completely diff with the exception of character names. This is more a love story of the females past self with lanling and her new romance as her present amnesiac self with Yu wen yong. This adaptation only inserts more of fantasy elements and looking for 2 magical items linked to Qing Shuo.
I first started watching due to many who praise the chemistry between Qing Shuo and Yu Wen Yong with the later wonderfully potrayed by Peng Guan Ying. His character seems to fill the screen more than Lanlingwang.
I find the title of this drama misleading. Thats the greatest hint/spoiler i can give you.
I would have dropped the rating to 7/10 because i did not like the ending. But for all the sweet moments of the show i maintained a 7.5. Also i fastforwarded many scene of other characters that i do not like. I always do that with long C dramas- this too doesnt escape from the need to be self edited.

Amo Peng Guanying
E dopo aver fatto la mia dichiarazione nel titolo devo dire che questo è stato il mio primo drama. Mi sono avvicinata a questo mondo per caso su suggerimento di un'amica cinese e mi sono subito innamorata del cattivo Peng Guanying. Devo dire che sono stata fortunata perché ho trovato il drama sottotitolato in italiano su Youtube gratuito. Inoltre è un drama storico (il mio genere preferito) e parla di un periodo storico che ho studiato molto bene e devo dire che anche i particolari sono stati ben studiati, ad esempio la scelta d'amore della protagonista verso fine drama rispecchia perfettamente gli usi e i costumi delle donne "barbare" dei regni settentrionali della Cina del tempo, ben diversi da quelli dei regni abitati dagli Han (intesi come etnia e non dinastia). So che i cinesi sono molto critici verso i drama storici che mal rispecchiano la realtà, e so che questo drama ha trovato il favore di pubblico in patria e lanciato definitivamente Peng Guanying, le cui doti recitative sono per me eccezionali, non a caso in Cina viene chiamato "Maestro", proprio per la sua bravura. La storia è reale ma con alcuni elementi fantastici legati ad un'antica leggenda. Credo che il pubblico si sia diviso per quanto riguarda la scelta d'amore perché entrambe i contendenti hanno caratteristiche e qualità che potrebbero far innamorare chiunque. Se non fosse ancora chiaro fin dalla prima puntata ho tifato per Peng Guanying ;) E penso che anche chi non conosce la lingua cinese, guardando questo drama imparerà a dire "Lasciami!
