As Mu Yeom recovers, Tae Oh taunts MuYeom to become Gap Dong himself for the 5th murder. Details from the prior 5th murder point to Ji Wool as a likely target, but suspicion of the growing attraction between Mu Yeom and Maria causes her to shake her police protection, letting her slip right into Tae Oh's path.
