Prince Jing meets Mu Qing and attempts to ask if Wei Zheng is in Mu Manor, but Mu Qing quickly changes the subject and leaves. Qin Banruo secretly meets Xia Jiang again; he asks her to open a silk pouch that Princess Xuanji left to Banruo.

Nirvana in Fire Episode 41 Reactions
I love how this show slowly unfolds and each episode brings up more questions, so you never quite lose interest. But at this point, I am really confused about Xia Jiang. In a previous episode, he says his son is everything to him, but that doesn't really seem the case as Princess Xuanji clearly was more important to him. His motivation also seems lacking - why would he be so loyal to her after she's died when he's not from a Hua background? I don't feel like the show is going to ever reveal this, and feel increasingly frustrated with his character; he just makes for a poor villain right now.
