Ju Ji Hoon is a South Korean actor and model affiliated with Blitzway Studio (블리츠웨이스튜디오). He was born Ju Yeong Hun (주영훈) in Amsa, Gangdong, Seoul, South Korea. His family belongs to the Sinan Chu clan (신안 주씨), and he has a younger sister, Ju Hye Ran (주혜란). He graduated from Sinam Elementary School (신암초등학교), Sinam Middle School (신암중학교), Jamsil High School (잠실고등학교), and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Acting from Kyonggi University (경기대학교).

He began his modeling career at 19, after a profile photo was submitted to a magazine by a classmate. He was selected as an exclusive model for the women’s fashion magazine Cindy the Perky (신디 더 퍼키) in 2000, but briefly paused his modeling to focus on university entrance exams. He later debuted as a model in the 2003 SFAA S/S Collection on November 1, under the stage name Ju Ji Hoon, in Hong Seung Wan’s (홍승완) "Sweet Revenge" show.

In 2006, after initially being cast in the KBS drama "Spring Waltz" (봄의 왈츠), he was instead cast in the MBC drama "Goong" (궁), marking his acting debut. He further expanded his career in 2009 with his debut as a musical actor in "Don Juan" (돈 주앙).

In April 2009, he was arrested for the use of ecstasy and ketamine, resulting in an indictment. The court sentenced him to six months in prison, with a one-year probation, 120 hours of community service, and a fine of 360,000 KRW. Following the incident, he faced suspensions from KBS, EBS, and MBC. His suspension from MBC was lifted in July 2013, and from KBS and EBS in January 2019. His career was put on hold during this period, and he enlisted in the South Korean Army on February 2, 2010. He served as a reservist in the Special Warfare Command and was discharged on November 21, 2011.

In 2012, he attempted a comeback with the musical "Doctor Zhivago" (닥터 지바고), but had to withdraw due to a vocal cord nodule just before its opening.

He won the Best Actor in the Drama category in the 61st Baeksang Awards for his role in "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call".
