Wang's upbringing was marked by financial challenges, exacerbated by his father's passing when he was 16, leaving significant debts for Wang and his mother to handle. To support his family, Wang took on various jobs during his junior high school years, including puppeteering, restaurant service, cement work, modeling, retail assistance, and styling.
In his career, Wang has diversified into writing and music. He authored "Van Gogh and Me: Wang Dong Cheng's Words, Paintings, Images," released on June 9, 2010. He also debuted as a solo artist with the album "What Are You Waiting For," launched on August 24, 2012.
In 2013, Wang established Dong Yi Entertainment, his own entertainment agency, and ventured into production in 2014.
