Actress Gong Seung Yeon is in talks to join the cast of A Casual Lie.

On June 29, industry insiders reported that Gong Seung Yeon has received an offer to star in the upcoming drama A Casual Lie and is currently in the final stages of discussions.

Her agency VARO Entertainment shared, "It is true that Gong Seung Yeon has received an offer to appear in A Casual Lie. But nothing has been decided yet."

It was previously confirmed that actor Lee Jun Hyuk has been confirmed for the series.

A Casual Lie tells the story of Tae Jun Seop — the grandson of TK Group chairman Tae Shi Hwan, and widely regarded as the "perfect man from a chaebol family" — and copywriter Yeon Woo Kyung, who get entangled in the TK Group succession battle.

A Casual Lie is adapted from Kim Eon Hee's novel and shares the same universe as Iseop's Romance, which stars Lee Jong Suk in the lead role.

In A Casual Lie, Lee Jun Hyuk is reportedly set to play Tae Jun Seop, the grandson of the chairman of TK Group, who stands out even within his wealthy conglomerate family for his exceptional abilities and striking looks. Gong Seung Yeon has been offered the role of Yeon Woo Kyung, a copywriter.

The series will reportedly be produced by Bon Factory, known for titles such as Lovely Runner and What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, alongside Ace Factory — which produced the Stranger Season 2 — and A-Man Media.

Lee Jun Hyuk and Gong Seung Yeon previously worked together in the 2018 drama Are You Human?. She starred as a PK Group bodyguard, while Lee Jun Hyuk took on the role of the company's operations team leader.
