Li Xian and Li Yi Tong's 'A Prophet' announces premiere date
Upcoming Chinese historical action drama Rebirth has confirmed its premiere date for April 8.
In the circumstances of a battle, Zhuge Yue (Li Yun Rui) and Chu Qiao (Huangyang Tian Tian) fall into an icy lake. Chu Qiao is rescued by Yan Xun (Zhang Kang Le) and, upon learning that Zhuge Yue has died, embarks on a path of revenge.
While in Biantang, she repeatedly receives help from a mysterious person and gradually begins to suspect that Zhuge Yue is still alive. As Yan Xun stirs up war among the four states, Chu Qiao is confronted with a threefold choice: to pacify the realm, to awaken Yan Xun's conscience, and to search for her beloved. In the end, she works together with Zhuge Yue to protect their homeland.
It is reported that the Chinese drama had its release delayed due to the "earrings" controversy, where the young actress Huangyang Tian Tian (17 at the time) was criticized by Chinese netizens for engaging in high spending after she shared a pic of her wearing earrings identified as being from the luxury brand GRAFF's collection, with a listed price of approximately 2.3 million yuan.
Huangyang Tian Tian posted on social media: "I borrowed the earrings from my mother." The C-netizens then shifted their attention towards the actress's family. Multiple sources claimed that her father was a government employee in Ya'an, Sichuan province, raising suspicions over her family income, which in turn sparked widespread discussion online.
It was later reported that the earrings she wore were in fact imitation accessories worth just over 100 yuan.
Regarding the incident, an official joint task force issued a statement in July 2025 stating that the earrings worn by Huang Yang were verified to be imitations of a major brand, gifted in 2016 by a friend of her mother. Professional testing by the National Gemstone and Jewelry Testing Group Co., Ltd. determined that the earrings were made of glass, with metal components consisting of copper alloy, aluminum alloy, iron alloy, and similar materials. Their value is only around a few hundred yuan, not precious gemstones. Furthermore, there are no records of purchases from the brand's domestic boutiques under Yang's or her family members' names.
