On March 4, media outlet My Daily reported that Choi Hyun Wook will work alongside veteran actor Choi Min Shik in the upcoming K-drama The Boy in the Last Row. According to reports, Choi Hyun Wook has been chosen as the final lead among different actor candidates.
The Boy in the Last Row will adapt the story from the Spanish play of the same name by Juan Mayorga. The K-drama will showcase the story of a failed writer turned Korean literature professor at a prestigious university who becomes fascinated by the writings of his student, who sits at the end of the classroom.
Choi Min Shik got the offer to portray the role of Mun O, a Korean literature professor and novelist at a prestigious university.
Choi Hyun Wook has been offered the role of Lee Gang, a Korean Literature student at a prestigious university whose writing fascinates his professor.
The Boy in the Last Row will be the next work of director Kim Kyu Tae (The Trunk, Our Blues, and Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo) and writer Jang Myung Woo.
According to reports, Kakao Entertainment and G-Tist will co-produce the upcoming K-drama. The filming will begin this year.
There's no official confirmation yet on the release date and broadcast channel of the upcoming K-drama.
