'Teach You a Lesson' Kim Mu Yeol admits childcare is harder than work
Chinese historical Jiang Men Du Hou (literal title) has officially announced the start of filming, accompanied by the release of posters and teasers.
It tells the story of Empress Shen Miao (Meng Zi Yi), who dies unjustly and unexpectedly returns to the time when she was a young lady. Seeing through the hypocrisy of those around her, she seeks out revenge and strives to change the tragic fate of the Shen family. In the course of her revenge, she encounters Xie Jing Xing (Dylan Wang), a young marquis who appears to be carefree on the surface but is in fact cunning, with a mysterious identity.
The C-drama is adapted from Qian Shan Cha Ke's novel "Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage" (重生之将门毒后); produced by Tencent Video, New Classics Media, and Yuewen Pictures; and stars Dylan Wang and Meng Zi Yi as the leads. This marks their first time teaming up for a historical political intrigue.
The C-drama is being helmed by Yin Tao, who also directed the currently airing Unveil: Jadewind, starring Bai Lu and Wang Xing Yue.
On February 20, the production team had the series' commencement ceremony at Hengdian World Studios.
At the ceremony, Dylan Wang expressed his anticipation, saying, "Thank you very much to Tencent and New Classics Media for your trust. This is my second collaboration with New Classics Media, and the last time was a very happy, unforgettable experience. This time, I'll do my best to portray Xie Jing Xing well, live up to everyone's expectations, and strive to have the project earn audiences' recognition and love. And going forward, I also ask everyone on the crew to please look favorably upon me."
Meng Zi Yi shared, "I am grateful to Tencent Video and New Classics Media for the trust placed in me, which has allowed me to have such an excellent role. This is also my second time working with New Classics Media, and the last collaboration was a really great experience. I hope that over the next 4+ months of filming, I can work together with all the staff as one and present a high-quality production."
