On November 3, 2025, during the Weibo Vision Conference awards ceremony, producer Liu Wen Yang announced that the Chinese fantasy Guardians of the Dafeng will be returning for a second season.
At the same time, the drama's official Weibo account released a statement with the caption: "Soldiers of Dafeng, we'll fight to the end together!"
Guardians of the Dafeng tells the story of a modern-day worker, Yang Ling, who unexpectedly finds himself in the fantasy-filled world of the Dafeng Dynasty. There, he goes by the name of Xu Qi An, a night watchman tasked with supervising officials and solving cases for the people of Dafeng.
