
The first stills from Heo's Restaurant, featuring EXO's Xiumin, have been unveiled.
Heo's Restaurant follows Heo Kyun, a controversial figure from the Joseon Dynasty, who unexpectedly ends up working in a restaurant after traveling 400 years into the modern era. It is based on the web novel of the same name by author Jeon Seon Young.
In the drama, Xiumin takes on the role of Heo Kyun, a self-proclaimed genius with a mysterious writing style and an exceptional sense of aesthetics. Gifted with a photographic memory, Heo Kyun time-slips from the Joseon Dynasty to the modern era. As Joseon's first-ever food columnist, he embarks on a real survival journey in contemporary society, running a restaurant with Eun Sil (EXY), whom he meets by chance after his time slip.
The stills capture Xiumin in the character of Heo Kyun. From traditional dopo robes to gwanbok attire, he mels in the character of a Joseon man in hanbok. Furthermore, he is seen wearing an apron in front of the restaurant, offering a glimpse into his portrayal of Heo Kyun who has come from the Joseon era to modern society.
In particular, his choice to continue wearing a hanbok even after the time slip hints at an interesting journey ahead. As curiosity builds around the reason behind Heo Kyun's leap across 400 years, Xiumin is expected to bring the character's witty and lively personality to life, delivering a delightful portrayal of the character's adaptation to the modern world.
Heo's Restaurant is set to premiere on March 24 on Netflix.
