Girls Generation's Choi Soo Young may be Kim Jae Young's leading lady in Idol Kid (working title).

On February 27, media outlets reported that Choi Soo Young will be the female lead of the upcoming romantic comedy K-drama Idol Kid. The K-drama was also offered to actor Kim Jae Young this week.

Choi Soo Young's side responded to the casting reports and stated that the idol actress was reviewing the offer.

If Choi Soo Young decides to join the K-drama, this will be her second upcoming K-drama. She will also lead the upcoming series Extremely Sensible Alcoholic alongside Gong Myung, Jo Yoon Hee, Kang Hyung Suk, Kim Sung Ryung, and Kim Sang Ho.

This will be her comeback to K-dramas after two years.

Choi Soo Young started her career as a member of the nation's girl group Girls Generation in 2007. She began acting in the same year. She is known for being part of the K-dramas Not Others, Fanletter, Please, If You Wish Upon Me, Move to Heaven, So I Married an Anti-Fan, Run On, 38 Task Force, and more.

Idol Kid will tell the story of a top star lawyer who was been a fangirl for 15 years and an idol who despises obsessive fans the most.

Choi Soo Young got the offer to star as Maeng Se Na, a criminal lawyer who seeks the truth behind the murder of an idol group member.

Kim Jae Young will possibly portray the role of Do Ra Ik. He previously worked as a singer in a cabaret because of her mother. He then debuted as one of the five members of the idol boy group called Guardians after the CEO of the entertainment company scouted him.

The upcoming K-drama will be the next work of director Lee Gwang Young who also created the series Call It Love, No, Thank You, The Secret Life of My Secretary, and the soon-to-be premiere K-drama The Scandal of Chun Hwa.

According to reports, the filming will begin after the casting is finalized.

Idol Kid will exclusively premiere on broadcast channel ENA.
