Perfect Crown is taking Disney+ U.S. by storm.

Local media reports that the latest rom-com Perfect Crown, which has maintained high rankings in viewership, buzz, and OTT charts since its premiere, has become the first K-drama to remain in the Disney+ U.S. Top 10 for 21 consecutive days as of May 3, 2026.

According to global OTT ranking site FlixPatrol, the series has stayed in the chart since it first entered the U.S. Disney+ Top 10 on April 12. It is particularly noteworthy for securing competitiveness with a rom-com narrative in the U.S. market, where crime, investigative, and sci-fi genres are typically preferred.

This is regarded as an achievement that further strengthens the Hallyu wave, and is also interpreted as an example of how the global expansion of K-dramas is shifting — from being centered on Asia to simultaneously gaining traction in the U.S. market. In fact, the series has demonstrated its broad international appeal by ranking in the Top 10 across a total of 47 countries, including the United States.

The drama retains buzz domestically as well. Since its broadcast, it has consistently ranked among the top in viewership in both the Seoul metropolitan area and nationwide, as well as among the 20–54 demographic. It has also retained a spot in integrated TV–OTT buzz rankings and cast popularity metrics.

An MBC representative stated, "Among global rankings, sustained performance in the U.S. market is an important benchmark for gauging content competitiveness," adding, "It is particularly meaningful that the series is being widely loved across diverse cultural regions."

Set against the backdrop of the constitutional monarchy of Korea, Perfect Crown follows Seong Hee Joo (IU), a chaebol heiress who has everything except a royal status, and Prince Yi An (Byeon Woo Seok), the king's son who, despite being a royal, cannot have anything, as they set out on a journey to carve their destinies, defying the social statuses that confine them.

Episode 9 of Perfect Crown is scheduled to air on May 8. Stream the K-drama on Disney+. Meanwhile, check out a new making-of video released by MBC below.
