'The East Palace' Kwak Dong Yeon talks military enlistment, grueling special-effects makeup & more
Disney+ unveils teaser for The Manipulated.
The Manipulated is an action drama that follows Tae Jung (Ji Chang Wook), an ordinary man who gets wrongfully imprisoned for a heinous crime, only to discover that everything was orchestrated by Yo Han (Doh Kyung Soo). He then sets out to take revenge on him.
The teaser spotlights Tae Jung's fiery pursuit of vengeance after his life shatters into pieces. Once diligently working delivery jobs while chasing his dreams, Tae Jung happens upon a cellphone dropped on the street and returns it to its owner. Intercut with this scene, the screencard, "That day, my life was broken into pieces," heightens curiosity over the storm that will strip him of everything in just a day.
Meanwhile, Yo Han's piercing gaze — watching Tae Jung — piques curiosity about what could be going through his mind. Tae Jung's desperation while in prison, "I don’t know why this happened to me," conveys his anguish.
Yo Han's wicked smile as he says, "Good thing you called me," raises anticipation for Do Kyung Soo's villainous performance. Accompanied by the screencard, "I don't know his identity or even his face. But I will catch him," the pulse-pounding car chase and explosion scenes aim to deliver electrifying catharsis.
Concluding, Tae Jung's wrathful warning — "Just you wait, I'll be coming for you soon" — coupled with Yo Han's chilling smile, piques curiosity for the tension-filled story.
The Manipulated will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on November 5 with four episodes, followed by two episodes each week, for a total of 12 episodes.
