JTBC's upcoming weekend drama Heavenly Ever After released a new teaser, showcasing the journey of Lee Hae Suk (Kim Hye Ja) to a strange yet beautiful heaven.
Heavenly Ever After follows Lee Hae Suk (Kim Hye Ja), who arrives in heaven at 80 and reunites with her husband, Go Nak Joon (Son Suk Ku), who has regained the youthful appearance he had in his 30s.
In the new teaser, the Director of the Heaven Support Center (Cheon Ho Jin) welcomes newcomers with the greeting, "Everyone, you've all experienced death, haven't you?" as he guides Lee Hae Suk into heaven. Following a light, she arrives in a tranquil and serene paradise. And as the director explains, "Heaven is a place where you heal the wounds you carried from your worldly life. It's where you reflect on how you lived," Lee Hae Suk encounters connections from both the world of the living and the afterlife.
First, she bursts into tears like a child upon seeing her mother in her youthful days, whom she never thought she would meet again. She also gazes at Young Ae (Lee Jung Eun), whom she left behind and cared for like a daughter.
Adding to the intrigue are new encounters in heaven, including the woman Som Yi (Han Ji Min), and a pastor (Ryu Deok Hwan).
Hae Suk arrives in heaven as her 80-year-old self, while her husband, Nak Joon, appears in his 30s. Despite the stark contrast in their appearances, their relationship remains the same, as seen when Go Nak Joon tells Lee Hae Suk, "In heaven, it's everyone's duty to be happy. I just want you to be happy."
Heavenly Ever After is set to premiere this April. News about the K-drama's global OTT service is yet to come. Watch the teaser here.
