SBS responds to reports of 'The Long Shot Trial' completing filming
The highly anticipated historical fantasy lighthearted rom-com How To Slay Your Boss has officially announced its leading cast, with Landy Li and He Yu joining forces as the on-screen pairing.
After a long period of preparation, the cast has been finalized, and the drama has entered on-location filming in Hengdian. With a talented team of creators and cast members coming together, the production is set to breathe life into this highly popular manhua-adapted IP.
The drama is adapted from Tencent Comics' highly popular work Psychic Princess (《通灵妃》).
The story adopts a novel narrative framework centered on a modern-day character transported into a game world. Zhao Yi Ning, a modern-day game planner who has long endured intense workplace pressure, and, following an emotional outburst, accidentally falls into the game world she helped design, where she takes on the identity of Qian Yun Xi, a young woman with special abilities.
After arriving in this otherworldly realm, she receives a mission from the system: assassinate the mysterious Ye You Ming in exchange for the chance to return to the real world. What leaves her utterly stunned, however, is that the Night King, Ye You Ming, who wields immense power and possesses an immortal body, looks exactly like the boss who exploits her in the real world.
Thus begins a clearly defined assassination plan. However, her attempts repeatedly fail, forcing her to become bound to Ye You Ming and travel across the land with him, confronting all kinds of supernatural creatures and strange incidents.
The C-drama weaves multiple layers of storytelling, intertwining time travel, system missions, supernatural adventures, and light comedy.
Landy Li will play Qian Yun Xi, a character who possesses the dual identities of Zhao Yi Ning, a modern-day office worker, and a girl from another world with special abilities. The character has a multifaceted personality: she is quick-witted and lively, with the boldness to take risks and never easily gives in when faced with adversity; at the same time, she has a young woman's softness and empathy, growing through one adventure after another.
He Yu plays the male lead, Ye You Ming, a character with a complex aura and personality. He appears aloof and distant on the outside, wields supreme power, and is shrouded in mystery surrounding his past. Though seemingly cold and difficult to approach, he hides an unknown tenderness beneath the surface.
In addition to the two leads, He Luo Luo, He Qiu, Cheng Xiang, Wang Li Kun, and Wu Han Kun have also joined the cast.
