Girls Day's Lee Hye Ri will possibly reunite with Hwang In Youp in a new project.
On July 24, media outlets reported that Lee Hye Ri is replacing actress Lee You Mi in the upcoming romantic comedy K-drama Dreaming of You. This comes after Lee You Mi, who was first offered the role alongside Hwang In Youp last month, ultimately declined the part. Lee Hye Ri is now reportedly set to pair up with Hwang In Youp in the highly anticipated series.
Lee Hye Ri's side hasn't responded to the casting news.
Dreaming of You will tell the romance between a reporter in her 30s and a successful film director who discovers love after dedicating years to chasing their dreams.
Hwang In Youp will reportedly give life th the character named Woo Su Bin, a successful film director. His parents controlled his life throughout his teens, but he broke free in his twenties to pursue and ultimately achieve his dream by his thirties.
Lee Hye Ri, on the other hand, will reportedly portray the role of Lee Jae, a reporter in her thirties who once had a fearless teenage dream but then faced the harsh reality in her twenties, leading her to feel like she's fully become an adult.
Dreaming of You will be the next work of writer Jung Eun Bi, who also took part in writing the script of The Beauty Inside.
According to reports, Dreaming of You will premiere in 2026 and it will exclusively air on Genie TV.
If Lee Hye Ri decides to join the K-drama, this will be her reunion with Hwang In Youp. The actor guested on Lee Hye Ri's YouTube show "Hyeri's Hyell Club" in 2024 to promote his K-drama Family by Choice. The two showcased great chemistry as they chatted about work and personal life.
Dreaming of You will possibly be Lee Hye Ri's follow-up K-drama work after the 2025 series Friendly Rivalry.
