Lee Jae Wook's next project is reportedly a K-drama where he will portray a plastic surgeon.
On March 21, media outlets reported that Lee Jae Wook had been chosen to lead the upcoming webtoon-based K-drama Endurance Doctor (literal translation).
Reports indicate that Lee Jae Wook has received an offer and is considering it positively.
Endurance Doctor will tell the story of a plastic surgeon who is assigned to work as a public health doctor on Pyeongdong Island, a remote and chaotic location that everyone avoids. During his year on the island, he will encounter a diverse range of patients and residents. This K-drama is based on the Kakao Webtoon of the same name.
The upcoming K-drama will reportedly be the next work of director Lee Myung Woo. He is known for creating the hit K-dramas The Fiery Priest, One Ordinary Day, and Boyhood.
Lee Jae Wook got the offer to portray the role of Do Ji Ui. He works as a plastic surgeon but was assigned to work in Pyeongdong Island.
Endurance Doctors is currently casting major roles, with Lee Jae Wook in talks, and is also in discussions about its broadcast channel and release date.
If Lee Jae Wook confirms his casting, this will be his first time to portray the role of a doctor.
This will also possibly be Lee Jae Wook's third upcoming K-drama.
Lee Jae Wook will lead the upcoming KBS K-drama, Last Summer, with Choi Sung Eun. He will also lead the upcoming Netflix historical series Dear Hongrang with Jo Bo Ah, Jung Ga Ram, Uhm Ji Won, Park Byung Eun, and Kim Jae Wook.
The actor is also joining the entertainment program Fresh off the Sea Season 2 and will work alongside Yeom Jung Ah, Park Joon Myun, and Im Ji Yeon.
