Lee Jun Hyuk's fourth upcoming K-drama will reportedly be a fantasy occult genre.
According to an exclusive report by the media outlet iMBC Entertainment, Lee Jun Hyuk has been chosen to lead the upcoming SBS K-drama Awakening (literal translation).
Lee Jun Hyuk's side hasn't responded to the casting reports.
Awakening is set against the backdrop of a high school where mysterious events keep happening. Lee Jun Hyuk got the offer to portray the role of a teacher who is also an exorcist.
When previously asked about his next project, Lee Jun Hyuk expressed his desire to try roles involving exorcism or supernatural phenomena. He humorously added that after portraying characters who "caught" people, he should now try catching ghosts.
No further details have been revealed about the upcoming K-drama Awakening. So far, Lee Jun Hyuk is the only reported cast member for the series, which will be broadcast exclusively on SBS.
Early this year, Lee Jun Hyuk led the hit romance K-drama Love Scout with Han Ji Min, Lee Jun Hyuk, Kim Do Hoon, Kim Yoon Hye, Lee Sang Hee, and Park Bo Kyung.
He is also set to make a cameo appearance in the soon-to-premiere Netflix original series Mercy for None, led by So Ji Sub and Huh Joon Ho.
Lee Jun Hyuk will also star in the upcoming K-dramas The Art of Sarah and The Winner of the Lottery Will Go to Work.
In addition to his other activities, he will make a special appearance in the upcoming film The Man Who Lives with the King, marking his return to the big screen.
Aside from acting, Lee Jun Hyuk is embarking on meeting his local and overseas fans this year. The actor is holding his fan meeting tour titled 'Let Me In' and will meet fans not only in South Korea but also overseas in locations such as Macau, Thailand, the Philippines, and more.
