Hit Netflix series The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call will possibly be returning with Seasons 2 and 3.

On June 22, a media outlet reported that the Netflix original The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call is set to begin filming its next installment in October.

In response, a Netflix representative told Ilgan Sports, "We are positively discussing the production of next season(s) of The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, but nothing has been confirmed yet. We will provide further updates later when the specific details have been decided."

Rumors have it that the production team plans to proceed with Seasons 2 and 3 simultaneously; Season 2 will consist of a total of eight episodes, and scripts for the first four episodes have already been completed; and Ju Ji Hoon, Choo Young Woo, Ha Young, and Yoon Kyung Ho, who led the first season, will all return for the new installment.

The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call follows Baek Kang Hyuk (Ju Ji Hoon), a genius surgeon who has performed surgeries even in the most chaotic conflict zones. He takes on the mission of leading the underfunded and sidelined Trauma Team at a university hospital.    

The K-drama shot to No. 1 on Netflix's "Top 10 Series in South Korea Today" immediately after its release in January 2025.

It dominated the domestic rankings for 22 consecutive days, and according to Netflix, it claimed the No. 1 spot in the Global Netflix Top 10 Non-English TV category for the fifth week of January. Just three weeks after its release, it rose to become the seventh most successful Netflix Korea original drama of all time.

The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call also swept major domestic awards ceremonies. Ju Ji Hoon won the Best Actor award at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards and the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards, while the drama took home Best Drama honors at the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards and the 20th Seoul Drama Awards.
