
Rising actress Jang Da A joins her first-ever romantic comedy K-drama.
On February 28, media outlets reported that Jang Da Ah will join the cast of the upcoming romantic comedy K-drama My Golden Star. Actors Song Seung Heon and Uhm Jung Hwa have also received offers and are reviewing them to star in the upcoming series.
Jang Da A's agency Starship Entertainment confirmed the reports. According to them, "It is true that Jang Da A will be part of the upcoming K-drama My Golden Star."
This will be Jang Da A second K-drama project since her debut. This will be her follow-up work after the successful 2024 K-drama Pyramid Game.
Jang Da Ah received praise for her performance in the TVING original K-drama Pyramid Game. Many commended her acting and chemistry with fellow cast members WJSN's Bona, Ryu Da In, Kang Na Eon, Jung Ha Dam, and Ha Yul Ri. For her role in this K-drama, Jang Da Ah also won the Rookie of the Year award at the 9th Asian Artist Awards.
She is also known for being the older sister of K-pop girl group IVE member Jang Won Young.
My Golden Star depicts the journey of a top young actress whose career is abruptly interrupted by an accident. Twenty-five years later, she navigates a comeback, facing the challenges of a significant career gap.
The upcoming K-drama will be the next collaboration work of the Good Casting team, director Choi Young Hoon, and writer Park Ji Ha.
Uhm Jung Hwa got the offer to portray the role of Im Se Ra, the top actress who rose to stardom immediately after her debut. After her accident, her life changed completely.
Song Seung Heon received the offer to play the character named Noh Chak. He is a bachelor detective.
Meanwhile, there's no information yet on the role that was offered to Jang Da A.
The broadcast channel and airing date of My Golden Star are still undecided.
