Park Hae Soo shares his feelings on The Great Flood's release during an interview held on December 23.

The Great Flood depicts the desperate struggle of people for survival on the last day of Earth after a massive flood engulfs the planet, as they fight for their lives inside an apartment building gradually being submerged by water.

Kim Da Mi takes on the role of An Na, an artificial intelligence development researcher who struggles desperately to survive amid a massive flood, while Park Hae Soo plays Hee Jo, a member of the personnel security team at the AI research institute where An Na works.

Dubbed the "Netflix civil servant", Park Hae Soo met audiences this year through four Netflix projects, from Karma to Good News and The Price of Confession.

Park Hae Soo said, "This year in particular, that's the case. These are works I filmed starting three years ago, and everything I had stockpiled got released," adding, "I was worried that some aspects might overlap and be reflected through characters."

Confiding his concerns, he said, "I'm grateful to have been chosen by Netflix and to have worked steadily on projects for a long time, but as an actor, I was afraid of being labeled with just one color." He continued, "However, as time passed, I came to think that this might be a stage that someone longs for, waits for, and desires. Of course, I will also appear in works on other platforms, but it made me realize that I should act with gratitude and a sense of responsibility."

He also reunited with Jeon Do Yeon in the recently released The Price of Confession. He expressed his appreciation, saying, "Jeon Do Yeon has been a great help to me. She is someone who has had a great influence on my life in many ways. She is sincere."

Meanwhile, regarding the passing of great seniors from the theater world this year, the late Lee Soon Jae and the late Yoon Seok Hwa, he said, "They are seniors who influenced me greatly, and I am grateful simply for having lived in the same time and era as them."

He added, "They saw their work through to the very end. Their paths are really beautiful, and as an actor, I have a desire to be like that as well. I wouldn't go so far as to say, 'I want to die on stage,' but I do want to become a junior who strives to live and work that way."

The Great Flood is streaming on Netflix.
