The main trailer and character stills for Netflix's upcoming series When Life Gives You Tangerines have been released.
When Life Gives You Tangerines unfolds the story of the rebellious yet endearing Ae Soon (IU) and the diligent Gwan Sik (Park Bo Gum) as they navigate the seasons of life, facing challenges and trials along the way.
The trailer captures the four seasons of life in a vibrant panorama. Ae Soon shares her dreams while snapping at Gwan Sik, and he silently supports her. Additionally, Moon So Ri and Park Hae Joon appear as the older versions of Ae Soon and Gwan Sik, who have moved past their youthful days.
Spanning from 1960s Jeju to 2025 Seoul, their lives unfold through days both cloudy and clear. With a cast of vibrant, living characters, the series teases an emotional and captivating tale filled with adventure, joy, and touching moments. The character stills capture the vibrant lives of the characters unfolding through the four seasons of life.
Ae Soon's stills showcase her transformation over time — from a student in a school uniform to a more mature version — sparking curiosity about her journey as a spirited rebel.
Meanwhile, Gwan Sik is a man of patience — whether it's sports, business, or any hardship, he endures without complaint.
As time passes, the grown-up Ae Soon and Gwan Sik, played by Moon So Ri and Park Hae Joon, respectively, further enhance the narrative. Their performances depict the two characters as resilient individuals who have weathered life's storms. Stills of the talented ensemble cast who bring Ae Soon and Gwan Sik's radiant life journey to completion have also been released.
Kim Yong Rim, portraying Gwan Sik's grandmother, Mak Cheon, and Na Moon Hee, playing Ae Soon's grandmother, Chun Ok, add depth and gravitas to the story with their profound performances. Yeom Hye Ran and Oh Min Ae take on the roles of Ae Soon's mother, Gwang Rye, and Gwan Sik's mother, Gye Ok, respectively.
Choi Dae Hoon adds charm as Sang Gil, while Jang Hye Jin enhances the story as Young Ran. Meanwhile, Ae Soon's haenyeo (female diver) aunts — Chung Su, Yang Im, and Gyeong Ja — are played by the reliably talented Cha Mi Kyung, Lee Soo Mi, and Baek Ji Won.
