The script reading stills for the upcoming SBS Friday-Saturday drama The Haunted Palace have been unveiled.
Airing this April, The Haunted Palace is a fantasy drama that follows Yeo Ri, a shamaness who refuses to accept her destiny as a spirit medium, and Yoon Gap, who becomes possessed by an imugi, which is related to Yeo Ri.
Present at the script reading session were director Yoon Sung Shik, writer Yoon Soo Jung, and the drama's stellar cast, including Yook Sung Jae (as Yoon Gap), Bona (as Yeo Ri), Kim Ji Hoon (as Lee Seong), Kil Hae Yeon (Neop Deok), Kim In Kwon (Kim Eung Soon), Son Byung Ho (Kim Bong In), Han Soo Yeon (as Queen Dowager), Han So Eun (as Queen), Shin Seul Ki (as Choi In Seon), Lee Won Jong (as Monk Ga Seop), and Cho Han Gyeol (as Bibi).
Yook Sung Jae plays the dual role of Yoon Gap, a government officer working in the palace, who becomes possessed by Kang Cheol, an imugi.
Bona plays Yeo Ri, a shaman chosen by the evil imugi. She is strong-willed and determined enough to defy her fate as a spirit medium and carve out her own destiny.
Kim Ji Hoon comes as Lee Seong, a reformist monarch who dreams of a strong Joseon nation. He remains a steadfast leader in the face of political strife and possesses a deep paternal instinct to protect his family from the royal family's long-hidden secrets. Additionally, his dynamic with Yoon Gap, the once-loyal subject who returns as the rebellious imugi, adds a comedic twist to their master-servant relationship.
The Haunted Palace premieres this April. News about the K-drama's global OTT service is yet to come. Stay tuned!
