On September 4, Sina TV uploaded a post on Weibo announcing Zhao Lusi's possible new drama, Farewell Letter (literal translation).

Zhao Lusi's fan club has reported that she will launch a new project in October.

The project, reportedly tentatively titled Farewell Letter, will be a 10-episode drama with a 45-minute runtime per episode. It is adapted from a novel by German author Kerstin Gier. Reports say Zhao Lusi purchased the adaptation rights and will star as the lead. The producer of Hidden Love will serve as the project’s overall coordinator, and filming is expected to begin in October.

Previously, in April, during a livestream event for brand Pechoin, Zhao Lusi shared that she may be joining a new production this year. Although Zhao did not disclose the title of the drama or production details, she said it is a project that aligns very well with the brand and aims to convey ideas related to women's mindsets and lifestyles.

If confirmed, the drama marks Zhao's return to the screen following a lengthy hiatus after her physical and mental health struggles and feud with her former agency.

She has recently been at the center of controversy following her highly publicized dispute with her former management agency, Galaxy Cool Entertainment. In August 2025, she publicly accused the agency of breaching its contract and making unscrupulous financial deductions, while also criticizing how the company handled her career and personal difficulties. The dispute drew significant public attention and sparked widespread discussion about artist management and agency contracts.
